ajax...? i would have happily tried that. i think we can get that in uk
in the end, i purchased 100ml cleaning solution from a seller on ebay
i received today. will try late tonight or tomorrow
i've put back print head and no change :(
see this link: http://ge.tt/8LYjgTN/v/0
i've uploaded a pdf of the nozzle check print outs
altogether, i've now done maybe 15 deep head cleans
i don't think i want to assemble the ingredients to create pharmacists solution - i'd have to spend 20 - 30...
i've no idea!
but... for me that's a consideration whether controlled or not
i have little ones who will get up to lots of things!
not sure i want to store away large amounts of substances that i only actually need a a few ml of
maybe i'd be better off buying a solution of a seller on ebay...
i need a solution now - my attempts to clean a print head using just water have failed
i did a search on ebay for the ingredients required
i only found propylene glycol - but then i don't want too or need to buy 500ml!
isopropylalcohol and ammonia not found
distill water - ok i can get this...
@fotofreek, thanks for the advice
i've got about 4/5 print heads lying around that i need to clean
i might look into putting together all ingredients - but would just prefer if a nice person had it all ready made for me :)
there's a few sellers on ebay who look like they sell home made brews -...
@fotofreek... i'm going to what u say and will install right now!
i was planning to do a 48 hour dry out just to be safe :)
i'll post back if i have problems
thanks!
@fotofreek - thanks for that - much more wiser and educated :)
but i still have the same problem: i need a quick and easy way to get windex equivalent
i'll pop into halford tomorrow and will read ingredients
EDIT: i just had a look now in halfords. i see this: window cleaner
is this the one...
@fotofreek, thanks for that - really helpful
something else... the yellow ink cart has very very dark yellow ink in
i'm not 100% sure if it was like this in the beginning
this was brand new - only purchased a few months ago and not even had a hole screwed in yet to refill - i'd say it has 80%...
i'd much rather just go and buy the one recommended on another thread on this forum - the halfords window cleaner
question: if i check the ingredients and it DOESN'T have ammonia - should i not buy?
i.e. they might have updated the cleaner or something?
thanks
OK... so I've done lots of research and am pretty clues up
+ I was given this link by Octoink: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=53386#p53386
(Great post)
I've washed carefully using warm water
The blue ink was the problem
But... when I look now, the yellow nozzle (or whatever...

OK, so I have the answer
Problem: I will go past Halford 20 times and each time I will forget to go and damn buy!
Solution: I got loads of cleaners in the house. Mr Muscle and a few other brand names I can't...
My yellow ink doesn't print for my MP640. I hardly use the printer (I'm assuming this is the root cause - ink drying?)
Can someone advise what I need to do to clean?
I've done some googling and utubing. There's plenty of advice - that's the problem, there's tooo much advice
Youtube: I've seen...
thanks for the replies guys
i'm going to call canon on monday and ask for a warranty repair
from past experience i know that they will want me to send in the whole damn printer
this will cost me just under 10
@thehat, thanks for the reply
see following for a nozzle check print: http://i.imgur.com/Yhl4Q.jpg
i refill using german method and inks *always* purchased from octoink
i noticed the problem 2 weeks ago - this was the same time i refilled funnily enough
too much of a coincidence? i can only...
Canon MP640: I've done several deep head cleans but my colours are still printing with streaks
Does this indicate a a fault with the ink carts or the print head?
My printer is still under Canon warranty - should I request for the problem to be fixed?
I would have to incur the charge of sending...
ok :)
that clears it up for me
i'll just do it upside down
i thought there was an important reason to keep horizontal (i've no idea where that idea came from!)
thanks
