@Tudor thanks for the reply
yes... i drilled holes like that
the kit i got didn't come with an adapter kit - i've seen others that came with a clip - what does it do?
the kit instructions said that i should worry about the holes - so i left open
(they do give some tape to cover the holes)...
@Peter, thanks for the reply - really helpful
looking at that link now
dumb question: if i remove the top... can i put it back on :)
would i need to add some glue or something to put back on top?
I've got a refill kit and have filled an empty cartridge - all OK
BUT... what if 2 colours were empty and the other was full
How would I know? If I tried to fill the full colour, I would overfill most likely?
ALSO: If I got a used cartridge that was completely dried up, how could I purge and...
I'm always asked by people what printer to buy or refilling after
I'm a bit of an expert on refilling the older printers (Canon only)
But don't know about others
Assuming that someone wants to buy a new printer, for which they want to refill...
What are the top 5 printer models they should go...
I'm not sure if this is a dumb question...
But if I follow some rules... can I make my printer last forever? :)
For example:
- when low ink warning is shown - don't continue to print for a long time - else you'll burn the print head
- use genuine ink cartridges (yeah right!!) or refill with...
thanks for the replies guys
i'm not serious about bringing the printers in :)
one would be much better off bringing in apple laptops if they were considering such a business venture
i still find it quite astonishing that the same printer costs sooo much more in uk (and europe i assume)
looks great - but i'm in uk
all i want is something that's off the shelf
epoxy glue u mention... this is what i was told to use elsewhere... so will give this a go
thanks
@Denng, yes, i thought of that. i was keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the printer would have a power unit that would cope with both types of electricity.
canon, wouldn't intentionally put an obstacle there by using different power units would they? ;)
well... i was thinking... if i go for a holiday... i might just bring back a few of them in my suitcase
not sure about customs check though - maybe not worth it :)
I saw a post regarding adhesives...
I had a tangent question relating to something completely different
I want to:
- stick things to plastic
- stick things to metal
- ceramic
I want to make 'things' - lots of different weird and wonderful things
For example, I want to make tie clips - I can...
Canon PIXMA PRO-100 under $100 in USA, but £350+ in UK?
What am I missing?
Should I take a weekend trip to new York and buy a few of these and sell on eBay?
LOL
Thanks
Omar
peter, thanks. i didn't know that. so one a print head is gone... ur stuffed?
are the epsons more reliable than canon (and therefore don't need to worry about print heads)?
The blue has been playing up for a loong time now
I deep clean twice - OK for a few prints
Then problem returns
The ink I use is from Octoink
Should I try cleaning with print head?
Or should I try a new blue cartridge?
Thanks
Omar
Is there anywhere I can get JUST chips for CLI526/PGI525?
I want to swap with brand new CLI526/PGI525 carts
On eBay, I can get 3 sets for 10 - these are compatible carts with chips
But all I want are the chips!
Thanks
Omar
The black thin cartridge - I think that's the photo ink cartridge - I think that's what it's called?
Why does it get used at all?
If I don't print photos, then why should any ink from it be consumed?
Yes, I print graphics - but nothing requiring intense black
Confused
How can I make sure...
what i don't get is: printer manufacturers add hardware to make the printers wireless
these same printers either cost the same or only a little more than non wireless ones
yet, if you were rbave enought o get a device to enable a non wireless into wireless, then you're looking to pay 40 - 60
