Your depth of knowledge is truly astounding. Thank you for weighing in - you are correct, the OEM ink prints do seem to last longer - a few framed ones are only now beginning to dull after five years. But what kind of made me go down this path was that a few prints I had done on Canon Photo...
‘wow, so I need to log in more. Sorry I just got back to printing again after a break Of nearly a year (thanks to the pandemic), and just saw your message.
not sure if it helps you any now but my ink is nearly five years old!! order number ISC17996 if that helps at all. Internal ref 106378
Thank you @stratman - that does seem to ring true. I am just surprised that this should start happening more of late. I wonder if it is happening more lately, because my Ink, and Paper stocks are getting old.
Ink, as I wrote, I have been using Oktoinkjet's refills, although the last time I...
I noticed that the pictures I printed to take to work with me, slowly started turning 'orange' over the course of a few months. The same photos (printed at the same time) placed inside a frame (under glass), have no such problem. The colors are as bright as the day I printed them out.
It has...
Thanks Mike, yes I did retain the printhead and put it in the new printer. I did not know about the logic board/power supply but I will salvage that! Thanks for the heads up.
Well, just updating this for posterity - should someone else ever have the same issues. I switched out the printer with one with one waiting in the wings, and we are back in action! Perfect prints all over the place. Shame about the printer, and I hate creating a mess for the environment...
Well, no go. I ran alignment a few times, everything looked good. But there is still a sizable gap at the top of a borderless print. :( The poor printer rattles when it prints too. Might be best to recycle it I think.
Lucky that I have three more waiting in the wings.
Ah ok. I thought the alignment only fixes issues where there are lines in the print. The photos themselves print fine, but the borderless is about 4-5mm off the top edge. I will try the alignment, it seems like the firts thing I should try in any case.
I will try this evening and report back.
I moved across the country about six months ago. Living in an apartment I didn't have room for my Pro 100, so I put it in storage for the duration. It was transported on a 24' truck, and I know for a fact it was bounced around and moved quite roughly (I'd like to forget the nightmare move). I...
Ah ha a mouth-to-cartridge resuscitation... I will try that. :P with my luck I'll have the magenta lips. Right before an interview too. But color me obsessed. Thank you, will report back!
Thanks Turbguy, it does seem to be the case to me as well. I just got this cartridge all purged and cleaned from Precision Color, and refilled it last weekend, so it shouldn't be dried ink already.. but maybe the cartridge was over-dry or something.
In any case, here's a pic of the cartridge...
My extreme apologies to everyone. My horrible photo skills on display here. I understand ink starvation having read through the forum and searched a bit.
At fault here is my photography, having taken a picture of the cartridge on the side. The ink traveled to the top. Eek. Sorry.
The ink level...
I am a bit lost here. I was affected by the Image Specialists PM/M issue with Pro100 inks. I recently got a replacement set from Precision Color, ones where the issue has been fixed (PM2, M2, BK2), and installed a new Print head when the old one refused to get unclogged.
To be on the safe side...
Hello all,
I don't know what happened and it posted before I had a chance to type this out.
Is it ok to leave the printhead without a cartridge overnight? I am in the middle of flushing the old cartridges and replacing them with new ones after changing the chip.
The wife called me away and I...
haha, I very well could be one! I just love my Pro100. It is only after a LOT of searching that I have found a printer that is economical and yet produces stunning results. I want to hang on to it for dear life.
Now the hard part - trying to justify it all to the Missus. :/
Sorry I have not updated the thread for a few days now.
It was the print head. I scavenged one from the spare Pro100 I have, and installed it with the same cartridges (after refilling), and presto, it all works perfectly again.
The warm windex soak + distilled clean didn't do anything to...
Absolutely. Here it is LINK
He was having a weekend sale for 25% off. I see the price is back up to 105.
Now whether or not it is genuine, I will let you know within a week or two. : ) I've had good luck with them in the past. Where the box was damaged, I have managed to get my money back...
