Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

Thanks. Not blaming the ink - just wondering! Especially what might cause it to apparently congeal slightly at the bottom of the reservoir. I want to eliminate behaviour (mine!) that might lead to premature head failure. I'm using SquEasyFill bottles and inks from OctoInkJet. 100ml bottles that...

Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

There are several threads on head failure, magenta and (particularly interesting) mikling's FLUSHING....WHY? discussion and videos. I've had two head failures in the past month, on a PRO9000mkII and an MG5300, caused by failure respectively with photo magenta and magenta. Following mikling's...

    FLUSHING....WHY?

I wish I'd been able to see these a year ago. I'd have made a lot fewer mistakes when starting out down the inky slopes! May I suggest that this thread (or at least the link to the videos) should be designated 'sticky'?

Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

To fill in the gaps (I'm the OP): My Pro9000 MkII is 15 months old and has had relatively light use (I'm very much an amateur photographer). Since using the original Canon carts, all inks have been IS from Octoinkjet in OEM carts. I have 2 sets on the go which would be rotated on average every...

Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

24 hours later and, sadly, there is zero improvement. Looks like a new print head is my only option. Thanks for your help.

Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

Thanks, Hat. My printer head is now soaking in 50% PS and 50% warm water with a generous squirt of Fairy. I'll report back tomorrow. Incidentally, I've not added any ammonia to my PS mix. Do you think this might help?

Pro9000mkII Nozzle check - Is this terminal?

I've been Cleaning (software maintenance) and cleaning (carts, etc) for weeks all to no avail. I've just soaked the head in the Pharmacist's solution for 24 hours, dried it, fitted a new (different) full set of carts filled with IS inks, run the Cleaning cycle again and still my problem won't go...

    Vertical stripe

Got it! That was simple and it worked a treat! Prints are now perfect. Very many thanks.

    Vertical stripe

Printer is Canon MG5300, OEM carts with Image Specialists inks from Octoinkjet. I've done loads of computer-generated and manual cleaning, including soaking the printhead with the Pharmacist's solution, but still got slight vertical banding just inside the left-hand side. Can anyone suggest...

Removing OEM label from refill hole CLi-8

Thanks to all for your ever-helpful advice. I've also acquired a large magnifying glass on a stand which helps a lot. Andy

Removing OEM label from refill hole CLi-8

This is a trivial but nonetheless awkward problem. Has anyone found any easy way to remove the very well attached label from over the refilling hole (where it says "PUSH") on a Canon CLi-8 cartridge? I know it only has to be done once but I'm getting on a bit and my eyesight isn't what it was...

Help with first-time Cli-8 refilling, please

Thank you, The Hat. Most helpful, especially as my ink duly arrived this morning! Just so I'm completely clear (and apologies if I'm labouring the point), when a red or green cart (which currently contains Canon ink) is, say, 75% empty, would you recommend that I: (a) take it out, reset it...

Help with first-time Cli-8 refilling, please

Firstly, I am very happy with my newly acquired (New Old Stock) Canon Pro-9000 mkII, bought directly following very helpful advice from this forum. Many thanks to the InkJet Masters for their valuable contributions. I have now ordered a starter kit of I.S. inks and refilling accessories from...

    Canon Pixma Pro-100 ink refills

Firstly, may I say how delighted I was to stumble across this forum a few days ago. I've learned a considerable amount in a short time about solutions to problems I hadn't realised I had! An upfront thank you to the experts who post on here for the benefit of "freshers" like me. I've been...
