To KMEC; Thanks for the wonderful pictures. It shows me that you know what you are doing and believe me this is very important when it comes to following instructions and getting things done. The answer is very clear. Looking at you nozzle check, the problem is that the lower portion...

    Canon Smartbase MP730 won't print

KMEC,...This problem should have been posted to the "Inkjet General" forum, not to the Announcements. If a modirator could move this to the correct forum, it would help alot. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your MP730. I will be relisting all of the Repair Manuals on eBay early...

Finally back... with lots to discuss (iP6000D)

ghwellsjr,... I really like this approach. Of course if the printer is attached to a PC, it is even easier plus you can control cleaning either the Black or the Color or both via the Maintenance tab. So let me summarize what I think you said. If you have one color that is not performing...

Canon Pixma 4500 refill or buy 3rd party cartridge?

retfeg,... The link you posted in your 2nd note, http://home.eol.ca/~mikling/Inks.html is actually sold by Mike who owns and runs PrecisionColors.com I think his ink, which is really Image Specialist ink, is the best and I don't think you can beat his prices, expecially if you are in...

Thinking about a new lg format printer.....

sSteve731,... I would make a suggestion that there are 1000's of successful people printing with Canon printers everyday of every year. Before you make you mind up about Canon printers, get some good ink carts with good ink and fill them yourself. I used G&G ink carts for a very short period...

Finally back... with lots to discuss (iP6000D)

sSteve731,... I'm confused,... On the night of the 19th you indicated you still had the problem and the "Bottom Bars" were still missing. Then on the 20th you posted the nozzle check pattern and said everything looked good. What did you do to fix the problem, and how did it look before...

    IP3000 Ink reverse-flow?!

cong 99,... The contamination problem is not that common but does happen on some vendor carts. If you refill your ink carts, contamination is caused by ink leaking out of some ink cart, which means the refill port is not sealed good. The ink carts sit on the purge pads and when ink leaks to...

Canon MP730 vertical head alignment problem

lin,.. If you ever get another ink spot on the timing strip, the Canon Maintenance recommdation is to use Isopropyl Alcohol to remove the ink spot. Don't every use anything stronger as that wil destroy one or more of the timing marks on the timing strip. At least you have it working again.

Canon MP730 vertical head alignment problem

lin,...My jaggged edge went away when I removed the timing strip and cleaned it and did another alignment. Are you saying you purchased a new timing strip and you still have the problem.???? If this is the case I can only think of one other problem. The timing strip passes though the back...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,... The S Series of printers use the same insides as the eary i Series, and all of the use the same basic purge unit. One great thing about Canon is that when the come up with a good design, they use it in all of their printers. I'm sure you took good notes in the disassembly of the...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,... The purge unit in almost all of the i Series printers is 98% the same. Some have a little different mounted screw holes but the working guts are all the same parts. What kind of thrift store are you talking about and what major city is it near. I'm in Northern California and we...

Canon MP730 vertical head alignment problem

lin,.. what I noticed when I fixed my timing strip was that none of the items I fixed were visible. I could not see the problem of the grease on the timing strip until I held the light in a different angle, then the grease smears were visible. Once I took of the entire timing strip and cleaned...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,.. Sorry to hear your problem has returned. The 4 blinking alternate Ornage/Green lights have nothing to do with the Waste Ink error for this printer. I don't know where you got that data but it is wrong. $ blinking lights is a "Purge Unit Error". This is telling you that...

    replacement tanks Canon i960...

Watchman09,.. I read your post very close and it is clear you are NOT interested in refilling ink carts. If you ever change yoiur mind, ghwellsjr is correct, Canon original ink carts are the best to use. However if you just want to purchase new low cost ink carts, go to inkforsale.net...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,... This is a good lesson for a lot of people. The problem with this printer from the beginning was that the purge unit was so gummed up with dried ink that is was stuck in some position,...probabaly fully extended. All that drfugawe did was to manually cycle the purge unit through...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,...I'm very glad to hear things worked out. But if you don't mind, I would like some more details from you on what you found and exactly what you did. Was it just that the purge unit was stuck and you freed it. What was the final problem and what did you do to fix it. This is...

    Two issues with Canon s750

drfugawe,... The first line of my post said . It sounds like you did not open the cover of the printer. When you open the cover the printhead should move to the center, and that is when you pull the power cord. The printhead has to move away from the park position and then when the POWER...

ink keeps drying up! Canon iP3000

Bimbob,... Let me say up front that I totally agree with Neil's suggestion of printing something of color each and every day. I don't know many people that don't at least logon on to get their email everyday. So, my suggestion is to print a "Nozzle Check Pattern" each day. This is easy to...

Long term storage of a Canon i560 printhead

ghwellsjr,... In the three examples of success you have provided, each one of them have one common element,... and that is you were always "attempting" to supply the printhead with sufficient ink. The first example is a very good test. Using cleaning carts full of some liquid will keep the...
