Bertil,...Tell us more about the silicone you use and how does it dry. I hope you don't let any of it get down into the ink reservoir. What is the brand, how do you apply it,..how long does it take to dry.
Also,.. mikling has a completely different thin clear plug that he uses on the Canon...
Joseph,...Excellent information. I appreciate you help and the knowledge about the MX870. I have one other suspecion on why that scrapped the MX860 and jumped to the MC870. In doing initial test of the 860 I find it extremely slow. No matter what fucntion you start if the printer has been...
Mike,... I just checked my iP6600D and it does the same basic movement by raising up the carriage once the move it away from park. I also have to use flat head screws on the ink carts for that printer. It is just that Canon has cut the spacing down to abosolute minimum. As far as molding...
Well I may have to eat my words. After my post yester day I started testing the ink cart clearance in my MX860 and was shocked at what I found. When the top cover is opened and the carriage comes to the center,...it first moves all the way to the left side of the printer where the ink...
I want to thank all of you for the great information. I used to be a VERY regular poster on this site,..that is how I got my "inkjet Master" back in 2006. I jumped from this forum over to "Fixyourownprinter" because that site had 10 times more activity. It has kept me very busy for the last...
I've searched all of this web site and have only found two items that discuss the CISinks sold on the Web. It has been several months since anyone added anything so I hope I can get any information available from the masters on this forum. CISinks is have a "Major" discount on there DIY...
Inkoholic,...I finally got a look at your Service Test print. The truth is it is not that bad. The black section only 2 nozzles missing, and I'm sure those should come clean with normal clean process. The Cyan head shows unbalanced printing in both directions which shows that while ALL...
Inkoholic,... The only printing you are doing is the nozzle test and that uses the absolute minimum amount of ink. The water will mix with the left over ink in the main part of the ink cart and it will still come out black. All the water that goes down into the waste ink pads will evaporate...
inkoholic,.... I don't know that your problem is in uploading the Service test print. It is just an image like the nozzle test prints you've loaded. In looking at the pictures you did post,... the black matrix showed several flaws,...but we know from earlier scans that there was no problem...
Inkoholic,... You should DRY the head very carefully and make sure you have removed all of the water that got beind the circuit board. Compressed air is the best for this but a Hair dryer set on MAX air and Lowest heat will also work,..it just takes longer. After that you need to install the...
Years ago I fooled around with Windex, but after years of working with printers I have settled on nothing but HOT WATER. I feel the best solution or liquid process is the "HOT" part of the incredent and it is very easy to get lots of hot water focused directly on the nozzles and on the input...
Inkoholic,.... I am posting below a picture of the Service Test print for the MP530. The MP610 is virtually the same but I don't happen to have a good copy. The Service Manual for the MP610 has and example. I have photo enhanced the colors on this image to make them more visible, otherwise...
inkoholic,....I'm sorry that I have been away and for some reason I have not been getting any notifications of post. Whatever,.. anyway,...I am very dissapointed in all of the posts that have gone on for a very long time. Many people have posted all kinds of suggestions and NONE of them...
inkoholic,...before you do something you may regret,..why don't you post a picture of your nozzle test print. this will provide us information that we need to direct you. If your head is really only clogged,...there have been many posts to this web site with detailed instructions on how to...
Louis,...The sad news is that you can't buy them anymore. Canon has stopped making them and they do not plan to make any more. Your best option is to watch your local thrift stores, Craigslist, eBay, etc. for anyone getting rid of a i960.. I tried to buy some a year ago for the i960 that I...
gigs95,.... we have communicated via the internet email and I don't normally watch this web site anymore. Why didn't you send me an email response. The last note I got from you was on 8/11/2011. You must understand that I work on 15 projects per day and help dozens of people. At my age I...
gigs95,...The only way I can send you anything is if at first you send me an email with the request. That way I have your address such that I can send a response with an attachment. So click on my email and send me a note.
gigs95,.... It has been rather a long time since I last posted to this web site,.. but that is my problem. I've been busy with may other things. Anyway, the testing you did on the purge unti was a waste of time. The simple answer for testing the purge unti is to look at any nozzle test...
iffoar,....It would help if you posted a nozzle check. You indicated you have done several "Deep" cleaning cycle, and if so what changes did you see in the nozzle test print. To get a real understanding of what is clogged I need to understand just what you mean when you say you have...
aaronthink,... As I said, you could go into service mode and print the service test pattern to give a detail view of the print status of each and every nozzle. It would be interesting if you would post that pattern.
