Do you feel the addition of the green cart helps the B&W tonality over that of the PRO-10?
I've read about rechipping the matte black on the PC site.
(Oh, and a question I wanted to ask: given the bladder and spring inside the PGI-9 carts, have you found there's a limit to the number of times...
Thanks...yes, I know about the optimizer and had already factored that into my decision matrix (it's not a huge deal for me, as I generally prefer non-gloss papers.)
Thanks...If there's little to no print quality difference (the optimizer doesn't make a lot of difference to me) and I can find a used 9500 mkII at the right price, I might grab one; if not, I'll wait for the next screaming deal on a Pro-10. (Which, knowing Canon, will probably be any day now...)
Two questions:
1) Does the Pro-10 have noticeably better print quality than the Pro-9500 MkII?
2) One of the reasons I went to Canon printers a few years ago was because of the horrible luck I had with Epson pigment printers — constant clogs, even after not printing for as little as 3-4 days...
After a four-month test of PC inks vs Canon OEM inks in my display conditions, it's pretty clear that if I want prints that will last I need to stick with the OEM ink/paper combination. This is not a shock. however, I'd really like to be able to print much more than I do and the cost becomes...
Thanks, Roy, you've come closest to answering my question!
This is my main concern. If there's noticeable fading in a few months, it makes no sense for me to give up what everyone agrees are the most stable dye inks (Canon OEM) on the market. I'd like to know more about those people who...
Thanks for the replies, but so far all I see are the theoretical answers I had before. What I'm hoping for is someone who refills a Pro-100 (or even a 9000 mkII) to chime in and let me know what their actual field experience has been: how are prints on walls holding up in the real world? Would...
Having become a fan of refilling the carts on my ix6520, and soon will be refilling those on my recently acquired ip4300, I'm now turning a jaundiced eye to how much I'm spending to feed my Pro-100.
I like the Chromalife 100+ ink/Canon paper combination for their ability to stand up under...
Here's a question for people to chew on and would help relative Canon newbies like me: what Canon printer models, past or present, represent the best the company has made?
Let's hear your favorite(s) in any or all of these categories:
- General text/graphics printers (typical home office use...
Thanks Peter. I was hoping that I could get away stocking only one ink set, but as you point out they have a different set for a reason. The color issues don't bother me so much for text and business graphics, but printhead longevity certainly does.
Damn...I thought the resetter would work. Oh, well, they're cheap enough.
On the other hand, Precision Colors lists different inks for the two printers as well. You don't believe that's necessary?
("O’ and you’ve had your go at finding the end of the rainbow, but what a find, its a marvellous...
Thanks for the info - makes sense. I also have a resetter that I use for my ix6520 carts, so I'm good in that department.
I bought the 4300 because my wife prints a lot of instructional booklets, and the HP 551dw we have has proven to be very unreliable (constant clogs of the black ink path.)...
