Godwin's Law is over 20-years-old now and states that the longer an on-line debate goes on and the more heated it gets, the more likely that someone or something is going to be compared to the Nazis. And PenguinLust an s/n that a fan of old Bloom County and Linux recycles.
Well, the toonie definitely didn't get knocked off, so either the MG6120 has a different chassis or you're wrong about the MP9x0. I don't know what to think.
So I got lost in the yarn: where are we at? Lipped plugs? Glue? Depleted uranium? BTW, I had a look under the hood of my MG6120 and it does seems as though the clearance... hmm.. maybe I should put a penny on top of the cartridges and see what happens...
Ok, so I put a penny on it, and I did...
Oh, I see. The seal's been removed for me. I had the idea that the seal problem is a bit of a headache. but you think the seal is easy to make? Easy enough that there's no need to go elsewhere for sealed 220/221s?
So, Mikling, I only use the German method. Do I now need to use a glue gun? Or is that only for the top-fill method? Are there any other issues with using your 220/221s with an MG6120? I've already got the inks, resetter and everything else you pack w/that.
I'm not quite old enough for ARPA...
Ok, so I guess I might as well buy the chips (w/the cartridges and inks to go w/them) from Staples, then I'll have my 2nd set of chips. I'll get 2 sets of empties from precisioncolors.com...
I've been to precisioncolors.com and perhaps I've missed something (I have before) but I couldn't find the empties I was looking for. I'll look to those off-shore links.
BTW, so can anyone recommend where I can get the chipped cartridges? Or is the local Staples good enough for this one-time...
Actually that brings up some other issues I had. What is the advantage of having transparent cartridges? Since the amount of ink needs to be calibrated by the syringe anyway, I'm not sure what the point is.
And how reliable and feasible is it to transfer chips? I'm still going to have to buy the...
I've heard that compatible cartridges are bad, so I'd repost here. I need backup cartridges for my MG6120. I already have the originals, but I'm told I should go for empty OEMs so that I can restart printing right away. Unfortunately, eBay, Amazon and even Google doesn't give me much of a...
Hmm... empty virgin, eh? eBay didn't have a whole lot in the way of 225/226 and Amazon didn't have anything. Google searches keep bringing me to http://inkjetreset.com but they don't ship to Canada.
Is it that much of an advantage to have transparent? Since the amount of ink has to be measured...
Firefox, actually. Thanks, that worked very well. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped me see any recommendations for cost-effective backup cartridges. :(
BTW, I don't know why I was so sure my printer is an MP. It's an MG6120.
Yes, I've already bought the refill kit and resetter, and can't wait to use them, but I've come to the conclusion that I could really snooker myself if I don't have another cartridge at the ready for the unpredictable moments when they run out. So, that means I have to bear another one-time cost...
That's weird. I was just there ordering inks and then went specifically looking for a resetter and didn't see it. That's what happens when you don't spend enough on advertising.
Thanks.
I was just about to order http://www.inkjetreset.com/Cli-226-Resetter.html when I saw "We Only Ship to addresses in the U.S.A" Where can I get something that ships to Canada?
Well thank you so much. If you don't hear from me again, I guess you can assume that it went off w/out a hitch (or it killed me. Watch for me in the obits)
Also, what's the enviro-happy way for disposing of my old BCI inks?
Oh, that! When I heard "squeeze bottle" I imagined a bottle w/a nozzle. I didn't think it would involve a needle as well.
So is the German method for a BCI the same as for an opaque CLI?
Squeeze bottle? I suppose they are simpler, but if I were to try using a squeeze bottle to perform the German method, I'd get far more ink on me than in the tank. I'm guessing you are thinking of the top fill method. I'd rather not deal w/the headaches of trying to maintain a seal.
It looks...
Ok, so fotofreek seems to think I just do the refill thing again. I used Precision Colors for the BCI ones, because someone recommended them, being Canadian. Searching on "CLI-226", PC is the only name I've come across. (I guess I can still find my old syringe kit) So is that what I should do...
Oh, I see. You're saying that by refilling I'll have saved myself the value of an entire printer if I manage not to do any damage before 3 refills. I know, it must be a matter of an awful lot overhead for cartridges that printers have come down in price so much, but ink is still way up there...
