I just emptied my cats' boxes, so I was thinking of dumping some of that into the litter, once it's in the garbage bag. I think a couple of oz of ink per box of litter is probably a safe ratio. I also have some old motor oil I have to bring to a garage. I wonder how much trouble that would give...
I have a septic tank, btw. I've already put quite a bit of the residue from each refill into it.
If I don't have to worry about the environment or the health of my septic system, I'd just pour the lot down the drain, rinse the bottles in the dishwasher and chuck 'em in the recycling.
I guess I got that stuff... in the fall of 2011. As far as I can tell, (FWTW) the viscosity hasn't changed. Now, how a print head's perception of viscosity differs from mine, I dunno.
Since the only indication of a clog is that 1 failed graph test, I'm going to chalk that up to the emerging...
I had another thread, but that one seems to have degenerated into confusion, so I thought I'd start another. I just realized that the ink I have is best before 2013 (I don't know which part of the year). What are the dangerous of using it? Right now, the only problem I can see is that the PGBK...
For a start, I should point out that I swapped PGBK carts, on the off chance that I did fill it w/the wrong stuff. After doing 2 cleanings and a deep cleaning I don't see any improvement to the shading.
The above is from a Windoze printer test page, but cropped. This one isn't. Feel free to...
I'm using what http://precisioncolors.ca sent me. They seem to call it "C1128P For use in PGI-220". I keep it in a cupboard on my desk (where it's dark). I think it unlikely that I would have accidentally filled it w/gray.
Oh oh! Canon finally got back to me, to tell me that I need to clean the head. I rolled my eyes, by went through w/it anyway. My experience w/clogged heads was very different from faded prints. Well, I complied and did 3 cleanings and 2 deep cleanings. It made the problem worse! Check it out...
Doh! At least it usually prints black in Linux. I printed out something in Kate that came out black, and I guess the usual black results I get come from printing out of the OpenOffice word processor, but I just printed a PDF out of Okular and the text was gray again!
Yes, I suppose the...
Ok, I tried printing w/the "Standard" quality (which is does by default) and "Grayscale Printing". It changed nothing. I also tried print w/the "High" quality. It changed nothing. I tried a bunch of other things, (including printing from an XP vm) but eventually my brilliant wife was able to...
So you're saying I select grayscale to make it black?
I'll check when I go home, but I think "Standard" is the default.
I also notice that you've selected the rear paper tray. I have it take from underneath. Does that make a difference?
Ya know, it's funny, but Linux users used to shy away from...
Can someone please help me understand why my printer always prints gray text in Windoze but is able to do black in Linux? I e-mailed Canon support for help, but their answer seems completely non sequitur. So do I need to e-mail them back to straighten them out or could one of you straighten me...
Ah....... ok, the warning isn't just a sign of things to come, that's when you need to change carts. Yes, I have been printing w/carts at 1/4 until the printer wouldn't do it anymore. Mine is a personality that wants to get every lick of ink out before I begin the cycle again. but I guess that...
I blew into the air hole for the cyan and an aggregate of blue bubbles appears at the refill hole and the outlet. The tank was already empty--I wonder if that is key to the problem. I did the same w/the other cyan I have and that also produced ink, so I put that one in the printer, did the...
Ah yes, OEM... I keep forgetting what I have, but it came from Precision Colors. Do they only deal in Canon OEM? I threw away the supplied plugs and got Octo's flush ones.
I guess I should point out that I use the German refill method, but the first time I fill them, I top fill and then seal the...
Unfortunately, I don't have a known-good cyan cartridge. I was here a while back w/a problem w/my other cyan cartridge, so I swapped it out for the one that's there now. Should I just chuck my cyans and get new ones? Can I get individual CLI-221s or do I have to order a new pack?
...negative, as in, they don't indicate there's a problem. I printed from and it's like some of the nozzles aren't firing sometimes. Then I printed a nozzle check and if you'll ignore the junk on the B-side of that paper that I couldn't remove from the scan, you'll see it came out...
The sponge was dry in that it didn't have any wet ink in it. It also didn't have any dry ink, because it was a virgin. Hopefully, you're right and all the nasty surface tensions getting in the way have all been broken.
It's funny. The previous problems I've had w/top filling virgin carts is...
I just filled a CLI-221Y with 7cc of C221yD, (a la PrecisionColors.com) which I intend as a stand-in for a 226. It's been a couple of hours, but the bottom sponge stayed as white as Michael Jackson (was). I tried tapping it (rather hard), but that didn't make a difference. Then I blew in the air...
