I won't elaborate on how this happened (too embarrassing) but I ended up with two identical unlabeled plastic bottles. One with dye photoblack ink and one with pigmented black ink. Is there a way I can tell which is which?
Here are pictures of my chopped MP640.
I cut away most of the plastic. Before cutting, I covered the inside of the printer with plastic foil (shrink wrap).
Hope this helps.
I cannot really help you, but I have the same problem with my mp640 printer. There are some lines missing in yellow. I did all the things you did and on top of that I've put the print head in the washing machine (in the pocket of jeans). Still clogged.
I think I maybe left the printhead without...
It is my experience that the cleaning cycles increase when the ink monitoring is disabled. Same with Auto reset Chips (on power up the chip resets and the printer thinks a new cartridge has been inserted and will start a cleaning cycle).
I'm not very fond of Auto Reset Chips. They usually reset on each power-on which makes the printer believe that new cartridges were inserted and it will start the extra cleaning cycles for new cartridges..
So, I understand the CLI-226/526 and PGI-225/525 replace the CLI-221/521 and PGI-220/520 cartridges.
I have an MP640 printer and in the future will have to buy the new cartridges, when I can no longer refill my current ones.
Two questions that come to mind are:
- Are the new printers that...
Stratman, I cannot confirm your bullet 7. The other 6 seem correct to me.
There's several lines in the dump that relate to the cartridges:
- CT(PBK=036 BK=058 Y=022 M=032 C=042) I think these are the counts that new cartridges have been inserted. If you have ARC chips, these figures should be...
Ruffin & mowerman90, have you ever turned off the ink level detection on your MP6xx? I did so when chip resetters were not yet available and this is still logged in the EEPROM.
I don't leave my printer on 7x24 but it's always plugged in a powered socket.
@Ruffin, my ink is from Inkbank (www.inkbank.com.au). I use the German Durchstich refill method and a chip resetter. I don't think the printer has a means of establishing the ink quality, it would also run with water in the cartridges. Based on the information I have, the cleaning cycles are...
Yes, everything Qwertydude states about his 4700 I experience with my MP640. Onlu when I switched to new canon cartridges things went "back to normal". The only diffference now is that I have reset the chips and refilled the cartridges. I assume that the printer doesn't recognize non-Canon ink...
I have one mp640. After the cartridges that came in the box were empty, I loaded the printer with refilled cartridges with auto reset chips. I noticed immediately that there were many more cleaning cycles. I then refilled the empty canon cartridges that originally came with the printer and...
When I reset the chips on my Canon 520/521 cartridges would the printer (MP640) be able to tell that the chips were reset? The reason I'm asking is that today I refilled my genuine Canon cartridges and reset the chips. After the refills/resets the cleaning cycles have increased dramatically...
Best approach is to refill the original cartridges and use a chip resetter. The original cartridges are designed by the printer manufacturer for your printer. Usually they are copyrighted, so anyting else will be of a lesser quality.
I've been thinking about this for a while now. If we can no longer see through the opaque cartridges, would it be possible to rely on the weight? I'm thinking of the following.
You need a scale, not with a display or a pointer that displays the weight (too large deviation) but the balance type...
