Since i am also almost ready to pull the trigger on one of these i would really appreciate if someone that has used the l800/1800 epson inks on a 1500w could comment on photo printing without profiling, or share a profile if available.

No of course it will not be better. I did not imply anything like that. From a cost perspective only it will cost almost the same and the 1500w has the advantage of being able to print on a3+ papers. If anything (withiut profiling) the prints coming from the 1500w should be worse than or equal...

Where can you get the AdjProg...is it printer specific or just another utility like WICReset?

Thank you all for your invaluable info. @Ink stained Fingers Yes the RX520 is still in (very) good condition. Only Epson inks were used and as a result has not printed much. Will check with the WIC Utility. I am planning on getting Epson L800 refill ink and refillable cartridges for the Rx520...

sorry for veering a bit off topic....and the multitude of printers mentioned :) I do not intend to buy both an l800 and a 1500w. I just pointed out that the cost of buying a 1500w + buying a ciss system for the 1500 and use on this combo ink designed for the L800 you end up with an L1800...
