If it is a color management issue all the colors printed will look funny. The op said his CLI-221-BK is nearly full while all other color inks are much consumed. The op did not say anything wrong with colors. I have been burnt before from yellow being lighter than normal. It was a clog in the...
Pharmacist, Grandad, I know 1 liter for each color is a lot of ink. I did not do the math. 250 ml is probably enough for a few hundred 13x19 prints. I will get 500 ml instead of 1 liter then. That's still 4.5 liters total of ink.
This project is for a group of people including teenagers...
The vent is through a tiny passage in a maze designed to trap moisture in it. The moisture trapped in the maze can prevent ink from further drying up but does not affect the ink flow when the printer is printing. The hole drilled for refilling has no such feature. Ink will dry up though the wide...
Canon Pro9000 uses 8 colors of color dyes. Epson R2880 uses only 6 pigment colors plus light black and light light black. I did a comparison between photos printed by these two printers. I found that Canon Pro9000 still prints a little more vibrant on glossy photo paper. The difference is not...
Trigger 37, your post is very interesting to me. I am getting into large prints too. I am at 13" x nn" for now with an Epson. I believe your HP large format uses pigment inks, doesn't it? I will print with dye based inks with my Canon for proofing then print the final version with Epson. I know...
Howard Electronics is fine with me. I don't think it is necessary to order from Europe. I may use soft plastic bottles available in 500 cc capacity from a kitchenware store nearby. They for dispensing ketchup.
Jimbo, IP450 is even better thanIP4300. I thought you had spare IP4300. I don't know if Canon quality degrades in newer models. For sure the newer cartridges make it more difficult to refill.
So the paper changes from batch to batch. Work flow issues could come up from batch to batch.
The old WJ797 looked darker but printed the same as the new WJ797.
It's likely the dye used in old 797 was different.
I am completely confused. I don't know what you are trying to tell us. Should I...
Mikling, it will take a lot more than that to convince me that the w797 today is different from 5 years ago. It sounds funny that the color remains the same the part number is unchanged but it is a different ink. If the part number isn't changed you will need a lot more than that to convince...
Do you mean the formulation was changed from BCI-6 to CLI-8 to CLI-221? I can see different IS part numbers for Cyan ink for different cartridge models. But yellow and magenta inks have the same part number. This is the confusing part. The ink set may be considered re-formulated if one of some...
Do you still have them? Man, i560s are no inferior than any new Canons in printing IRS 1040s. Not very fast but reliable, never clog and good printing quality. I had one. Gave it away to a kid going to college years ago. It never came back.
What's funny about it? I have used mules. They took me through trails I could not have gone through by myself. You just need to feed them. Are you jealous?
Most Canon printers end their life with clogged print heads or symptoms of clogging. Some may be refilled and some may be not. Let's all blame the ink because they are so expensive. Have a great day.
I remember you said you have some(?) IP4300 still in the box. Have you sold them? I believe the price can reach $150 or higher. They are great for refilling. Good for you.
