If that is the reason it should not matter how often you refill, but only how long your carts are in use.
I can't say, but my experience is this: My first set of carts is in use since more than one and a half year now without flushing. I don't print that much, and because I also have a 2nd set...
Well, I let them dry quite some time... to me the sponge looked quite dry.
I uploaded the pic to imageshack, but the pic hoster is awfully slow for me... I tried a different one.
Yes I do, and so do many others here, I think.
Well, I think the concern of bacterial/fungal infection has it's merits... but then again, perhaps tap water is also bad for the print head. Who knows. I flushed my one set of carts (the dry ones from ebay) with tap water and never rinsed my...
Oh sorry, I think my post above was a little bit inaccurate. I flushed the carts as Grandad suggested, and also refilled them as he suggested. After this initial refill process, I sealed the new holes with hot glue and use the Durchstich method to refill them.
This means: After flushing the...
I bought my ip5200 1,5 years ago and own 2 sets of carts.
The first one was delivered with the printer: I refill them since the beginning using the "Durchstich" method and never had to flush them until now (I do nozzle checks from time to time and after inserting a fresh refilled cart). The...
I use needles with a sharp tip... mainly because the refill shop sent me those, and I never felt the need to look for blunt needles and try them.
I don't even rinse them :) I have one syringe for each color, and after refill, I simply put the cap back on the needle.
Here are some tests from druckerchannel.de (I'll use the google auto translation link mentioned above):
Test - the chip resetter "Redsetter" from Sudhaus
The "Redsetter" will be available in a few weeks. It will cost 20, or 30 including a refill kit. The company claims that the resetter can...
I'm using this method since 1,5 years now with my IP5200.
The first set of carts is still in use, and I never even had to flush it. The foam does not show any signs of deterioration, even if I pierced the foam of the yellow cart 100x to test this last year.
(I used Inktec ink all the time, but...
Hi everybody,
sorry if this is old news for you, but I did not check the printer forums for quite some time ( no reason to, since my IP5200 works just fine with his first set of carts for 1,5 years now).
Today I noticed that there finally are affordable chip resetters available for my printer...
I purged about 20 CLI-8/BCI-5 so far without problems. I left the chips on the carts and did the purging. Afterwards I let some tap water run over them and then I flushed the chips with a syringe and a small amount of distilled water and let them dry thoroughly.
I don't know if the distilled...
I think Aldi Nord has it every april and every december. See the database/archive here
(The text and picture don't say that it was the Sihl paper, but it was)
Oh, I'm sorry to hear you got problems. Unfortunately I don't have much experience with refilling problems, since I've never encountered any, but I'll try:
"Banding" sounds as if there is too few ink - "drops" sound as if there is too much ink.
Is the nozzle test okay? Have you refilled the...
Yes, I tested my yellow cart by piercing the sponge 300 times. The cart has also been refilled 8 times until now, and there is not the slightest degradation to be seen. I still use it just like my other carts. I can't say how long my carts will last, since I don't print that much and I also have...
I can't tell you much about the gamut of Inktec ink, since I normally don't care much about that. But I've tried to find a test chart for that (this from here) and had a look how many discernible colors I see when I print it with my iP5200 on glossy Sihl paper, 280g.
The light parts are all...
May I ask where do you come from? If you are not from Germany, you might find Inktec cheaper in your country... especially if you factor in the shipping fees. If you are from here, I'd like to know where you bought your Hobbicolors ink. :)
I am quite happy with Inktec, but I have not experimented with other companies like Hobbicolors etc., so probably somebody else can answer your ink related questions better. I have some photos hanging on my walls for about 4 months now. I can't see any degradation due to uv light or ozone so...
PC is the purge count (M means manual, I guess, 5D could mean automatic (timer) purges and so on).
CH is counted whenever you remove the head and put it back. (My 10 months old iP5200 has CH=14, by the way.)
How CT is counted exaclty, I'm not sure. Does it count whenever I remove a cart to...
