I'm not even sure whether there's actually a difference. A long time ago I remember only seeing the word "damper" used when referring to a CIS, where a "damper" was the "much smaller than a regular cart" piece put in place of a cartridge - there was no reason to use a full sized cart, smaller...
I've never had a problem with MIS, but I've never bought ink from them, only cartridges and other supplies, because their prices are too high.
Companies change though, whether due to change in management or simply not caring anymore. Hopefully this is just a case of miscommunication.
Using pigments for outdoor aqueous vinyl for signage, and heat transfers for t-shirts. Can't do that with the affordable Canons.
I'm hoping that switching supply vendors will solve most of my problems. I don't expect things to be perfect but I'm at the point where I have a hard time believing...
I had at least five of them leaking out the sides from the plastic seals, thus my earlier post asking if anyone makes hard walled dampers. I finally thought I got everything set up perfectly yesterday, spent the whole afternoon printing out my ICC charts and thought I was going through a lot of...
Since I am going to have to cut off my relationship with my current refill supplier, I need ICC profiles for my Epson 1400 converted to pigment inks. Who have you had the best results with getting profiles made?
After going through way too many flip-top dampers with the resettable chip bar and having problem after problem, I'm giving up on trying to use them. At this point I've spent so much money I may as well have just bought Epson cartridges. What are your favorite refillable cartridges. The ability...
I also have those same flip top dampers. Many of them leaked from the edges around the plastic. I thought maybe I had done something wrong but after replacing 2 sets at my own cost and finally getting enough to go around that do not leak around the edges, I also now have the problem with the bad...
I have found agitation helps clear clogs. The best way to end the banding faster in my R220 after refilling it was to make a 2% grey full page swatch and print it at the highest slowest setting which would "shake the air out of it".
I think banding is inevitable in Epsons, it happens even using...
You may want to look into getting a full sample pack of Red River paper, though they don't have too many that are that heavy weight. Look around for a discount code to bring it down under $10, I don't currently have one off the top of my head though.
Usually the large format HP cartridges you simply refill with ink with the syringe. One port is for ink and should be closed unless you are refilling, the other port is for air ventilation and should be left open. The bulb on the bottom of the cartridge is used by the printer to get the ink flow...
I've been buying the dampers with auto-reset chip bars but it feels like they break if you look at them the wrong way, the thin plastic on either side of the "cartridge" seems to peel away from the edges and start leaking.
Does anyone make refillable Epson carts that are hard walled plastic on...
DealExtreme sells internationally and while not quite as cheap as Monoprice is still probably cheaper than your local stores. I found it a little difficult to search for just a "plain" USB cable, using Advanced search and looking for "USB A B" In Title worked best. Also DealExtreme tends to take...
Thank you for that... I think someone here who has a big website should re-host that permanently. I'm amazed nobody over at dpreview has commented that the program is missing in the last 2 years, considering the 1400 only went out of production a month or so ago.
I started both my 1100 and 1400 without OEM carts but it may be different for the higher end systems.
There have been a few comments elsewhere that the 1430 will only work if you start with the CIS/reset chips, if you initialize it with Epson it will block aftermarket chips.
Nobody ever answered this? I want to find it too. The blog link is up but the website hosting it is down. Anyone got the download saved somewhere that can host it (or maybe we can save it here)? As well as whatever drivers are required for it to work. The broken Epson 1400 came with an older...
Finally bit the bullet and bought a refurb 1400. I saw a post on another forum where the owner thought the 1430 used more ink than the 1400 did.
Anyone have any tips on how to get the printhead carriage cover off without breaking it just in case I need to exchange it?
