Thank you for that... I think someone here who has a big website should re-host that permanently. I'm amazed nobody over at dpreview has commented that the program is missing in the last 2 years, considering the 1400 only went out of production a month or so ago.

I started both my 1100 and 1400 without OEM carts but it may be different for the higher end systems. There have been a few comments elsewhere that the 1430 will only work if you start with the CIS/reset chips, if you initialize it with Epson it will block aftermarket chips.

Finally bit the bullet and bought a refurb 1400. I saw a post on another forum where the owner thought the 1430 used more ink than the 1400 did. Anyone have any tips on how to get the printhead carriage cover off without breaking it just in case I need to exchange it? :rolleyes:
