Found my only "spare"/damaged 1400 cartridge and put cleaning fluid in it, so far no good but I guess I'll just keep printing "black" and hope it eventually clears out. I need to find some cheap blank carts. Importing a bunch from Coralgraph looks cheaper than any of the vendors in the US. :\
I did this in the paper path and the paper towel wicked out a whole bunch of ink. This time I put it over the capping station but I don't think it's a good idea for me to leave it there too long or it'll drain all the ink out. I'm getting less positive about being able to revive this printer...
No luck so far. It's the same nozzle pattern after every attempt at cleaning. I hope it's not the printhead. I'd better start using the other one more often.
I was just trying to decide whether or not it was worth keeping a dyebased printer around for effects papers, from what I've read so far it looks like yes. It might be the pigment 1400 that gets switched to B&W since the R2000 will hold rolls of printable vinyl and maybe I'm better off just...
Thanks, I'll try this. I had the plug where I couldn't get to it so I was trying to find a quick and easy solution to remodeling the room  but I need to do this the right way. I bought propylene glycol to make cleaning solution with and of course I know it's buried in storage...
I can't seem to get the black on my dyebased 1400 unclogged after not using it for about 8 months (yeah, my fault). Figures the pigment 1400 that wasn't used for a year fired right up with no issues. I tried gently pushing cleaning fluid in with a syringe/rubber tubing and let it sit...
Thanks guys. I never really feel comfortable even giving away dyebased prints (I like my aftermarket supplier but I don't even trust OEM dye, really...) nevermind selling them, but dyebased just works better for some things... I haven't tried this combination yet but I wonder if I used a really...
So I may or may not be getting an R2000 in the near future. I already have a 2x 1400s, one pigment, one dye, and a WF 1100 that I'm not using and probably doesn't work anymore now that I've I bought a B&W inkset for it. I *really* don't need another printer (or have room for it) but...
No, I don't think any printer out there fits your exact needs.
Keep in mind that people who either don't know what they're doing or got a defective printer are more likely to leave a bad review than someone who had no problems will leave a good one. I generally avoid mixed-review products, but...
Don't have one, but this gets mostly good reviews.

The only reason I know about it is it hit Slickdeals after Christmas for $30 and was called one of the best deals of the season. I wish I'd bought one even though I...
Once again performing thread necromancy because I didn't see this mentioned: if your printer has the drums on the carts themselves you must avoid as much exposure to light as possible. Light can damage a laserprinter drum (so especially don't do it next to a sunny window). Refills often but...
For my monochrome laser I generally just get whatever cheapest 3-pack of aftermarket toner carts that have a decent amount of reviews and over 4 stars on Amazon. I just picked up this color demo model on clearance and I'm curious if there's anything I should watch out for using aftermarket toner...
Welp, been gone over a year due to family emergencies and otherwise being too busy to play with my printers.
I'm hoping I can get my 1400s working again after such a long downtime. If not I'll have to get a refurb R2000...
Anyway my main question is what to do with the Workforce 1100. I...
Maybe you could notify your ink supplier and see if they can pack it extra tight with styrofoam or even in a bigger box (gotta make sure the ink is in the center) to give it more insulation against the cold. Also maybe "Please keep package out of freezing temps" on the outside.
In Windows, you have to change the settings in the Printer Preferences in the Printers & Faxes / Devices folder. If you change the settings while printing out of a program it only changes it for the duration of using that program. Mac probably has a similar setup, though I don't know how to...
You could get a wireless print server and make any printer wireless. If the idea is to print remotely from her computer but you don't need to put the printer on top of the refrigerator or inside the dog cage, then get a wired print server. I hate wireless printers, and while they usually work...
ColorLok is supposed to reduce bleeding from minor dampness, but dye inks are probably going to bleed no matter what you do. I don't think there's any expectation for plain copy prints to be remotely waterproof (and I wouldn't expect $5 a sheet premium papers to be waterproof either). Even if...
I haven't done so yet because I haven't had the time to work on it, but I am planning on changing my WF 1100 (also a DuraBrite printer) to pigment black and dye colors, which is what most HP printers seem to use. So far I haven't found any reason not to do it this way.
I also still haven't...
The problem is shipping that size a box is way too expensive for someone who just wants to buy just a few copies. It's great for shipping 150 sheets in 50-ct packages, not so much for just five sheets.
Just curious as to whether anyone has had any actual success with either the "giant envelope...
