Has anyone tried vinyl decal masking/transfer tape instead of blue tape? You can get 6" wide or more! I have 6" and 12" rolls already. I just bought a Monoprice Mini Select and I need to test it out before Jan 31 since I got a used model (missed Black Friday) and need to know if it works before...
I bought a new set of carts for my 1400 last year because my supplier changed their pigment inksets. Since you can't wash out the cartridges, I bought a new set. I had a leave-in set that were connected together that auto-reset. While I wanted this at first, it got annoying because you couldn't...
This thread is for a definite hard clog on a 1400 with dyebased ink. The other thread is for a 1400 with pigment that does not have a clog (the nozzle check is different every time and doesn't have the same bands missing), so that is a different issue.
It's my fault for not using my printers enough, though I do find it strange that it's the /dyebased/ printer that's gone bad. This one has normal resettable cartridges. The black nozzle check seems to be permanently bad. Every so often I -think- I get one more bar clear. I don't have a spare set...
It's my fault for using in-printer reset cartridges (linked, jump to full randomly after dropping below a certain level) that make the printer do more purge/cleaning cycles than necessary. But it seems like every time it does this, it loses the good nozzle check! I'll get it running for a bit...
The idea was to find her a printer that doesn't need a ton of maintenance that fits her needs (small print margins that are even on all sides, or at least the same number for opposite sides). I don't mind cleaning it for her, but I figure if it clogs up again in a few months then it's...
Interesting. The Uniball 207 and 307 are supposed to be resistant to check washing but I wonder how archival they actually are.
Scrapbooking pigment pens/artist fineline markers like the Pigma Micron line might be better for long term!
There's no problem printing the cards until it gets dirty, the U shaped paper feed is less of an issue than I thought it would be.
The formatting issue is with printers that have uneven physical margin limits. Her HP, which she had bought when she moved, had worse margins than the old one she...
A bit late here: I've never tried OnlineLabels glossies. I've ordered the laser waterproof (decent but not spectacular) the inkjet waterproof (not good for long term, would be OK for things like favors at a wedding that you don't want the ink to run if it gets humid or touched with wet hands)...
This is the third time I've had to clean my neighbor's Epson. She prints a lot of cards and scrapbooking stuff so she needs small print margins, and they also have to be even so they center correctly for the legacy software she uses (the HP she had bought when she moved in had a .25" top margin...
A bottled CIS would be worth the hassle of maintaining for large amounts of printing. Unfortunately I don't think any inkjet other than the HPs that take the giant 940XL/950XL cartridges is rated for anywhere near that amount of printing.
Actually at over 10k prints a month you're getting to...
I have used Sihl 3988 Aqueous Vinyl but it only comes in large rolls. I was able to get sample rolls from All Square in the past, but they still needed to be cut manually.
It's well past time for Canon to be offering Buy 1 Get 9 Free for the holidays. Anyone have any info on whether they're going to do it this year? Or even Buy 1 Get 4 Free (always check if there's an additional 50% off coupon - there usually is!)
I have been happy with their Luster paper - not...
Other than the starter cartridges I've never used OEM toner on my HP Laserjet P1505 mono or my color Laserjet Pro 200 MFP m276nw (demo model).
I bought a set of color carts for the 200 from Global Toner on Amazon about 18 months ago. 2 black and CMY were $100 at the time, it's down to $80 now...
As The Hat said, try looking in an art store - not just in the art supply section, but also check out the scrapbooking section.
Also, have you tried looking at Southworth business/resumé papers? Unfortunately I don't think they make one over 65 lbs but the Ivory might be a better tone.
So it's been a hwile since I've bought a non-wide-format printer. I had someone who wanted to just be able to stick a camera card in a printer and print so I casually skimmed Staples for whatever the current equivalent to the R340 is.
Apparently none of the small format printers/all-in-ones...
It drains away instantly but it goes into the waste tank. It didn't do that before and the other printer doesn't do that. The last time I ran a cleaning cycle it purged into the waste tank so I'm assuming it's still working but I haven't run one since I got it printing OK. Just kinda weird.
Yeah. I was going to skip getting the R2000 (watching a display model to see if the price drops more) but if it goes down to $200 that's about the same price as a refurb 1400/1430. If one of mine is broken or starting to break anyway I'll need a replacement. Right now I'm using dye in one for...
The dyebased one that got clogged, I finally got the nozzles used for Photo RPM unclogged by puddling The Hat's purge solution on the parking pad. I used to be able to nozzle check / unplug / move printhead / puddle solution / plug back in and immediately turn off via the button and the fluid...
Well that's horrifying. It's making me want to buy that R2000 just to have a printer that'll work with refills even if I don't see any significant increase in quality over the 1400 with pigments and good profiles.
