Hi. Things have gone from bad to worse from user error here. I have a piano book CISS with my Artisan 710. I was trying to pull the plugs out one by one and clear the lines of any air bubbles. When I got to cyan I could not get the plug out. In trying to do so I punctured a hole in it. Stupid me...
If you are doing a lot of head cleanings make sure to soak up the ink from the resting pad where the print head sits with a paper towel as it can defeat the head cleaning if there is excess ink there. At least that has worked for me.
I would say yes. if the printer doesn't work you want to know before you modify it. You may need to return it. Plus you may as well use your free ink assuming some came with the printer. That is what I have done in the past.
I have some old Epson cartridges from my Artisan 710 that are empty. I don't know if anyone uses these to refill or uses the chips for anything or just likes to take them apart for any reason. I noticed a post on another part of the forum where someone was wanting some used carts but I think...
Well I made a decision and went with the Canon. For $148.00 and 50 free sheets of 13x19 semi-gloss it was too tempting.
The hardest part is switching from LJH Ent who has served me very well for 5-6 years. But I do still have one Artisan 710 that I haven't buried.
I want to say that this...
Thanks. I don't have to have a wide format printer for any particular reason. That said - when it is almost the same price I certainly wouldn't mind having the option to print larger.
Leonard said I would have to purchase a new model CISS so that does add an extra cost to the 837 if I go that...
Thank-you both for your replies.
I think I should have mentioned - I have been using a CISS on numerous 710's for 5 or 6 years. For the amount of printing I have done (mostly matte paper - photo notecards) - I really haven't had much problem except the past year and I'm still not certain if it...
My Artisan 710 is having new problems every day and seems to be retiring.
I'm trying to decide between two printers for a replacement. I realize one is wide format and the other isn't but right now they are nearly the same price because both have discounts going on. One is the Epson Artisan...
Do you mean where can you get a reset key?
Octoinkjet is where I got mine. They have one for the SX415 here.

If you are asking something else sorry - not understanding the question.
Thank-you both for your suggestions. I did the following. Purged the air from all cartridges by removing the caps and letting the ink flow through the lines. Then I cleaned the timing strip and paper alignment wheel with alcohol (I think I got the right parts). I also cleaned the gold contacts...
Hi. I have an Artisan 710 that I have been trying to keep alive. I recently have reset the waste ink counter with OctoInkjet and I also worked on unclogging the nozzles by turning the printer on, waiting for the printhead to move off the resting pad, unplugging the printer, and taking a paper...
Thank-you. I purchased one from Martin a couple years ago and I was thinking that was the case - that the Epson one didn't last very long but I could not remember for sure. I appreciate your help.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between using the downloadable reset from the Epson site to reset my waste ink pad error vs. buying the utility from Octoinkjet? Do they both do the same thing?
Thanks very much.
Anne
Update - Success
Well, I did not even have to do any more purging - it just started flowing once all the ink in the cart ran out I guess. Anyway - it's working like new again. Thanks Leonard and also The Hat. :)
Update
Hi. I received the tubing Leonard - thank-you! I was able to splice the old tubing and insert the new. It prints a clean nozzle check and says there is half a cart of light magenta but there is still a lot of air in the tube and ink is not running through especially at the top coming out...
Thank-you - I appreciate those ideas. I tried a small piece of tape but it started to come loose after the first print and I could see some ink on it. I will try the foil. Not sure I am knowledgeable enough to do the splicing but I might see if I can figure it out. Otherwise - purchasing a new...
