Something about their expressions really cracks me up. I love it. Makes me think of Mr. Ed the talking horse. I feel like that middle one just wants to say something sarcastic. :yuckyuck
Or keep it and try again later - or you might possibly get something for parts. I still have several 710's sitting in my closet that are not serviceable but I have not tossed them yet. Hope you are happy with your Canon.
I got random cartridge error lights when I was removing and re-inserting my CIS carts. It was really only the Cyan that had a problem - and it ended up that it needed a new chip - but before I replaced the chip it would look like it was being recognized until all the carts were back in and then...
My problem ended up being a damaged chip on my CISS cartridge. It all started when the seal broke and rather than replacing it I tried to tape it. Live and learn. Hope the others on this thread solved their issue with unrecognizable cartridges.
Wow - never say never. Can't hardly believe it but I am up and printing again on the Epson 710 that I thought was gone for good. The chip did it! Thank-you Leonard! And thanks to all who encouraged me to not give up!! It is amazing the amount of trial and error doctoring that I have done on this...
Thanks for sending the chip Leonard. Just got it in the mail today. Plan to spend some time with the printer on Saturday. Will post once I have it up and running (thinking positive)!
I don't know the answer for you but I just upgraded to Windows 10 today and both my Canon and Epson printer disappeared. I am a little concerned about how best to reinstall without doing anything that would jeopardize my refillables and CISS. Windows 10 says "nothing will be lost" but my...
Here is the screenshot of my status monitor - which is interesting because on the printer itself it just says the Cyan tank cannot be recognized but in the status monitor it does not recognize any of the cartridges and then has an extra "X" on cyan. Not sure what to make of that.
Thanks Hat. I put all OEM cartridges in (I had some old ones) of which three were empty (not cyan). Everything registered but it said those three were out of ink and need to be replaced. Then I put the CISS back in and same thing - cyan is not recognized. I'm afraid I am done with my epson and...
Well, I'm really at my wits end. I let it sit for a day. Then I removed all the CISS cartridges, cleaned the gold wire contacts that the Cyan cartridge connects to, and replaced each cartridge one by one - turning off and unplugging the printer between each cartridge. I put the Cyan cartridge in...
Right.....sorry - I'm pretty challenged when it comes to following the ins and outs of all this. Maybe I will end up needing new cartridges for my ink system or maybe it is time to just put the Artisan to rest.
I'll try giving it some more time. I have thought things were dead before only to...
Okay - it's been powered off for several nights. I'll try again since I just did the cartridge sequence. if that doesn't work maybe I can uninstall and reinstall the printer itself.
Thanks for your help.
