While you could run pigment ink in it, it's not recommended since these printers (at least on my L805, but I think on all L and ET series printers) have CIS units that feed from the bottom, where pigment is likely to settle. You could be diligent in keeping the pigment suspended by shaking the...
The only thing I would add is if the image has a white background, remove it so it is transparent before limiting the whites. Otherwise you'll have a visible border and unnecessary reduction in contrast.
@Ink stained Fingers in your overprinting with GO, do you specify a mask? Is the printer...
Lemons and lemonade ;)
I like that with paper that is glossier than the pigment, you can get an interesting almost embossed effect when you print a subject on a contrasting plain background. As long as there isn't bronzing..
Actually depending on the artwork you are printing, you might want to try traditional watercolor paper. I use various watercolor papers with my P600 (MK), and it looks quite good. And traditional watercolor paper is time tested - who knows what inkjet coated paper will be like in many years...
MacOS is notorious for messing with printer drivers, so I would double check and make sure the correct driver is installed and working.
Otherwise, maybe check the correct paper source (sheet/front fine art/front poster board) is set for the media type?
One thing to consider is that the Pro-10 and Pro-1 have Chroma Optimizer, which will effectively neutralize gloss differential on papers with gloss and give them a more even looking result.
The P600 doesn't have that, and while the P400 does have it (Gloss Optimizer) third party support for the...
On refilling, the P600 and Pro-10 are both easy to refill and good inks are available for them. The Pro-1 is a bit harder, as you'll need to use replaceable single use chips.
Well the 3880 was brought to market in 2009, and I don't think much has changed on the printer itself since then.
Some details of the driver and software might be a little different though, particularly on MacOS.
I received my Precision Colors refill kit for the P600 from @mikling today, and after a scare with the PK/MK switch I decided to change all the carts over at once. Does anyone know how much ink I need to push out before I'm more or less on all PC ink? I'm guessing it's about 10ml or so..
Although the headline price is low, not everyone gets or uses the rebates, which probably saves Canon a bunch of money compared to just discounting the actual price.
One interesting thing I learned in an article is that worldwide, HP has the biggest market share followed by Canon, and then...
My last printer many years ago was an Epson R300, but I gave up on home printing after so many clogs and ink leaks from cheap aftermarket carts. But this time, after much reading and watching YT vids, I think I'm much more prepared
I currently have an Epson L805 and a P600 (out of...
