I was under the impression that the chip for a yellow cart would prevent it from being used in any location other than the yellow slot. This would mean that you'd have to have a "cleaning cart" for each individual color. Am I correct in this assumtion?
For those that want OEM carts newegg.com has a 25% off all ink and toner by entering promo code EMCZZNT67 at checkout. An example is the 4 color CLI 221 package that retails for $47.99. Newegg sells it for $41.90 but if you use the promo code EMCZZNT67 at checkout it's only $31.42 with FREE...
I have a MP640 and refill using the German method. After resetting the chips on the OEM carts,I haven't noticed any more frequent cleaning cycles than when using factory new carts. Maybe I'm just lucky. I do leave my printer powered on 24/7. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Yes, just speaking from experience. My wife came up with another version of the old saying, "Once burned, twice learned". Her version goes like this: "Once spilled, twice killed":lol::lol:
Just got this email from Newegg.com advertising a special on Canon MP560 priinter with FREE SHIPPING
It's about 3/4 down the page http://promotions.newegg.com/neemail/nov-0-2010/ITclearancen18/index-landing.html?nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL111810&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL111810-_-EMC-111810-Index-_-E0I-_-Printer#Per
I've added the Optional Picture Package Plugin to CS5 and it works fine. The problem I'm having is that I want to create a new layout so I can print 3 4x6 on a letter sized sheet of paper. After starting the Picture Package Plug-in I first click Edit layout and then choose 8.5 x 11 as my page...
One way that I imagine you could do it would be to "program" a "custom size" a bit bigger than the size you want. It might take a little trial and error
but if your custom size is bigger than the actual paper you're using I'm sure that the printer could be tricked into doing what you want.
Chip Resetters are widely available on Ebay. I had no problem finding one fopr my MP640 which uses the CLI-221/220 carts.
Your MP980 may be eating ink because you have disabled the ink counter/warning because you are not resetting your chips before
refilling. Thius causes the printer to go...
PKM123,
Give http://private.abacus24-7.com/ a try. I've been using them for years for my old ip5000's and never had any issues.
Their ink matched OEM ink to my eye and their service was top notch with free shipping. They also supplied ink carts for
my HP Photosmart 7460 (HP 02 carts) and I...
If, if your ip5000 has become irrepairably clogged or otherwise put out of commission, I believe you'll be very happy replacing it with an ip4700.
I had 2 ip5000's that became inoperable and replaced them with a MP640 which uses the same printhead as the 4700. You will be very happy with the...
I've only had it for a couple of months but have had several Canon printers in the past and feel this one is definately the best. I really only needed just a photo printer that could do letter sized prints but got a great deal from newegg.com on the MP640 for $99 + free shipping, so I couldn't...
Your problem stems from the fact that you have not reset your cart chips and ink monitoring is turned off. You can find chip resetters on Ebay for around $30. What they do is reset the chip on the cart to show that it's full and then the ink monitoring system will count the number of nozzle...
I have the Canon MP640 and am extremely satisfied with it. It uses the 220/221 carts and are easily refillable when used with a chip resetter. It's fast, prints beautiful pics, capable of duplex printing and has dual paper paths. Plus, when firmware is hacked it prints on CD/DVDs.
I can't answer your question about the HP 201 carts as I have no experience with them. I do, however, know that you can easily refill the Canon carts very easily and inexpensively using the German Refill method. Search this site and you will find many people prefer this method. You can also...
I use Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss from Sams Club 8 1/2x11, Kirkland Professional Glossy from Costco 8 1/2 x 11, and Kodak Ultra Premium Glossy from Sams Club 4x6. At Christmas time I print my own cards using Red River 53lb Premium Gloss 6 1/4x9 and 52lb Canadian Gloss/Matte 6 1/4x9 both...
ghwellsjr,
Thanks for the info. I'm going to follow your advice since being that you own "9" Canon printers you probably know what you're talking about. :):):):)
