msmart,
The thickness of the disc has nothing to do with the marks. I proved this to myself when I first noticed the marks after purchasing my MP640 by attaching a glossy sticky label to a DVD and printing it. It came out of the printer without any marks while the Watershield disc had marks...
Stratman,
Thanks for the tip on Amazon. I'll have to check there next time I order. For some reason I never do. Another FYI is that the cakebox I
received today was labeled that they were made in UAE, not that that matters, just a FYI.
For those of you that either backup your commercial DVD's or print your home made DVD's there is now an alternative for those seeking a "GLOSSY" hub printable DVD. Until now I have always used Taiyo Yuden glossy media with outstanding results. They have printed beautifully with my ip5000 but...
Not having ever had any experience with a CISS, I can't offer much help other than to ask if you've contacted the company you bought the CISS from? If not, I'd get with them and ask what they think could be the problem.
Yes, you are correct. The original will now be the new backup and the backup will be the new original. I simply moved the original printhead to the backup and still have the backups printhead in it's unopened foil pouch.
Fish,
I don't refill toner carts as I can get rebuilt ones from...
It's very important to throughly wash and dry each needle and syringe after each use. All that is needed is warm water to do a good job. If, however, you let any ink dry in the syringe or needle you'll need to use some soap or windex.
Thank all of you for your help. This is what makes this forum great! I'm happy to report that I found the culprit wrapped around some of the gears that drive the rollers and was able to remove it. I'll now box up my oringinal MP640 and set it asside for any future mishaps.
Osage,
If...
I own a small business and yesterday was printing my monthly customer statements in hopes of getting them done before the mailman arrived. As luck would have it what could go wrong did go wrong and a statement got jamed in my MP640. instead of pulling the machine out from the spot it sits in...
I have a friend that is continplating the purchase of a new Canon ImageClass MP4570DN Laser printer. His concern is that the replacement toner carts for it are apparently only offered by Canon and are in the $80+ neighborhood while only offering 2100 pages. He is not the type to refill his...
Anyone considering getting a profile made by cathysprofiles.com should first read this thread at the dpreview printer forum: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1003&message=30823511
This morning it was raining hard so I couldn't start work as usual. I'm a landscaper here in Central Florida. So I sat at my desk mindlessly surfing the internet and basically got bored. So I decided to refill the 4 empty CLI 221 carts that I had sitting by my desk. I neglected to put on the...
I see from your signature you have PS CS5. That means you can easily use profiles with your printer and PS. See the sticky post at the beginning of this forum for info on how to do it. It will make a difference.
I don't believe you have any reason to worry about availability. I just checked the Canon website and found that ink carts for my s900 are still available. I'm not sure but I believe that printer
is about 8 - 9 years old by now. Even if Canon would discontinue the cartriges I'm sure that...
I have tried Sams Club "Royal Brite" paper. One print and that was enough for me. Back to Sams it went. I now use Kirkland paper from Costco or Ilford Galerie Smooth Gloss, or Kodak Ultra Premium High Gloss with outstanding results.
Why spend that much? The Canon MP640 that I have has everything you want other than only 2 cartridges. It has 5 ink carts that can be easily and quickly refilled for about .30 each. And let there be no mistake this time......it definately has dual paper paths that will let you leave...
My apologies songkrai. I truly thought that "all" Canon desktop printers had dual paper paths. I guess that only the more expensive models have that feature. Now that you are
in possession of this printer I believe you can still achieve what you want by setting up the Canon to print only...
No, you do not have to take the paper out to print envelopes. The MS320 has 2 paper paths, one is the bottom tray which holds letter sized paper. The other is the rear paper tray. Envelopes can be kept in this tray all the time. Switching between paper sources is done through the printer...
