I have W8.1 Pro and I can boot to a usable desktop from a cold boot in about 18 seconds. This is thanks to using a Samsung 840 Pro SSD 256G.
A SSD is the single most bang for your buck you can get for boot speed up. I'll never have another computer without one.
Put the OEM color carts back in with a brand new OEM black cart and after a call to Epson Support it now works fine. Support had him
do 3 cleanings and 3 nozzle checks and after that everything seemed to work fine. I'll have him tape the ARC carts and save in a plastic bag until he runs out...
Thank you for the fast response. Unfortunately I won't be able to do this tonight but will be there tomorrow. However, I did verify that the ARC cart is full of ink and when pressing a tissue to the output got ink to come out.
My son-in-law bought a 2530 because of my recommendation. I bought him a refill kit from Precision Colors, hoping to save him some money over the life of the printer. Today he calls and says that he's getting the low ink warning from the black cartridge. I explain to him that he must replace...
Since you have taken the printhead out of the printer several times you should do a "print head alignment". That may solve your problem with the squares.
I'm contenplating getting a Pitney Bowes mailstation 2 postage meter for my business statements. I had one of these machines many years ago and became fed up with the high cost of replacing the red ink cartridge. I've refilled for many years for my Canon printers and now my new Epson, so I'm...
Just got an email from Epson this morning that shows the Epson Artisan 837 for sale at the Epson Clearance center for $110. I just bought one several months ago for over $200 from Amazon. I wish I'd of waited for this sale. This printer was discontinued awhile back and has been harder and...
Stratman,
No, unfortunately. I'm figuring that the only way to get what I want is to hack into the registry and I'm not about to do that without explicit instructions.
Maybe this will make it easier for you to understand. When I press print in PS, I then have to click the button in the taskbar to bring the print preview up as the top window. Screenshot #1.
What I want is for the print preview to be the uppermost window without having to click anything in...
Lucas,
Yes, I know it has a preview box just like Canon. What I asked was once you press the "Print" button in your application how do you get the actual preview screen to be on top of all other windows?
Sorry Hat, my question was for my Epson Artisan 837. I have a Canon also and don't have any problems with it showing the preview. I want the Epson to enable the preview just like my Canon does.
I've got an Artisan 837 and I like using the preview screen before I commit to print anything. Why? Because of the variety of things I print. How many times have I printed a letter sized document on 4X6
photo paper....er...let me count. Anyway, I'd like for the preview screen to always be on...
I'm not the least bit concerned with the fact that W8 might or might not have problems with compatibility. What I'm concerned with is the fact that my printer is TRYING to update itself and I DON'T want it to. I'm afraid if it does I'll not be able to use the resettable carts that I'm now...
This is the second time that I've seen this on my monitor. When I installed the printer I checked off to never update anything for the printer. This has shown up 2 times now without me doing anything to initiate it. I'm running windows 8.1 if that matters.
I went ahead and setup the wireless from the front panel of the printer (did not use the setup disc) and everything works fine now. I can print from my computer through USB and I can print from my Android phone wirelessly.
My 837 is currently set up using a USB cable mainly because it sets just a few feet from my computer. However, I'd like to have it be able to print from my Android phone wirelessly. I know I could reinstall the printer to just use wireless but I'm concerned if I do that it might somehow end up...
