My Pro9000 is having bad Photo magenta nozzle checks & now my Pro9500 is exhibiting very strange behavior. This came to light when I tried to profile my new Bright white matte paper with the Colormunki Photo & the first test chart was not good at all. The first shows an old test print & that's...
..................Yes to be fair there have been some dissenters and trouble makers who were members here but fortunately the moderators (Rob) kindly help them to go elsewhere.............
Rob has never said anything to me:-)
I agree with Roy 100%, the print looks a lot better to me than it does on a high res monitor. Also Mikes point about the posh names the expensive papers have which seem to add exclusivity to the print, even calling it Giclee prints can add $100 to the price because who would buy an inkjet...
I looked up cloudy ammonia & it has a bit of soap in it which I think gives it a cloudy look when new. The product is called Cloudy Ammonia.
Roo urine is great for most cleaning jobs but it does have to be rinsed off with old mans urine to get rid of the gamey smell:-)
Thanks all:-) I think our water is soft Peter & I've been using our purified drinking water that goes through a pre filter & then a carbon filter., maybe I should buy some demineralised water. So far Emu I have only used windex & flushed with filtered water but I think I might add some cloudy...
After the usual soaking in Windex & flushing etc to try & clear a bad nozzle check on my Photo Magenta port I have had two warnings of Cartridge not recognised, one on the magenta yesterday & just now I had it on the Photo Cyan. The message was fixed on both occasions by installing a different...
...........I'm sure your glass is looking fine....
I'm a bit of a speed reader & I thought how does Peachy know that, then I reread it & you said glass.
Anyhow after overnight soaking & trying to force windex through the PM (not PC) port the nozzle check was unchanged. So I put the head back in...
Gday Peachy my pro9000 print head has a blockage on the PC outlet which I'm now soaking in Windex. Do you think this blockage is from the rotten ink your boss sells or from not using the printer for 6 weeks?
I had something similar in my pro9000 m2 PC channel although after cleaning the missing ink patterns would change giving me hope I was making progress but I didn't seem to get anywhere. I installed a new printhead & it has been fine since.
Hope you can get it sorted Ian.
I had to drill through the ball hole to make the new plugs fit but yours seemed to fit snug without drilling.
I used to hate removing the ball & getting the label off so just drilling beside it like the Hat said is way better. I will do it that way next time.
Great job on the videos Martin...
There's not a great deal of difference between OEM profiles & the ones I've made because the Image Specialist inks are very close to Canon colours.
Precision Colors who sell the IS inks have all the profiles for IS inks & papers on their web site so have a look there to see what they have.
Canons Matte Photo paper is a cheap type of paper compared to their fine art matte papers. I have profiled all my papers for Image Specialist inks on my Pro9500 & the Matte Photo paper gives me just average prints. I bought a box of Canon Fine Art Natural & it prints up beautifully, yes the...
Roy I don't think the printhead should be thoroughly dry before using as this may fry the head with no moisture in the head before the ink gets down to it. The electrics at the back I think should be thoroughly dry though.
I use the German method for my CLI8 (pro9000) carts because it's quick & easy with no ink getting on my hands like I used to get with the top fill method. Mind you the reason for ink on my hands with the top fill method is I couldn't bring myself to stop filling before the ink well was closer to...
