Thanks Hat:-) I will try & play with one of the (bad) carts & see how that goes although I did a really good flush on one & it looked spotless. If all else fails I will just buy another OEM so I have a spare. I will also try the upside down storage & increase my beer intake:-)
I did post this a few days ago in the older thread on my pro9500 magenta problems but no one has responded & I was wondering if it's because of the old thread or I have been sent to Coventry. Anyhow I will repost it in a new thread because it seems that my magenta Pgi9 carts went bad after less...
I know the Hat had success with the Fairy liquid but I soaked my pro9000 head for 4 days in it then another 3 days in Windex & there was no improvement. I did a little test on dried ink by wiping Fairy liquid, Windex & Isopropyl & the only two that moved the ink were Windex & Isopropyl so I...
Well it looks like I owe The Hat a beer, I put my money on the ink being bad causing my strange looking magenta problems because I couldn't believe both magenta carts going bad on me. I have now received my new ink from Precision Colors & the problem remains with both old cartridges, so even...
Yes the cheap plain black frames from the cheap shops work very well for home use & look great on the wall with a matted print in them. I think I get 20"x16" to frame 13"x19" prints for under $15 each.
Gday Roy
I was in the shop the other day picking up a PGI9 magenta cart & I had a look at the pro 100, $750 & pro 10, $900. Geez I wish we had a border to drive over:-)
I meant my 9500 problem was bad ink (just reread your post so this is in the 99%) & my two 9000 problems have been the print head. The 9000 head has been cleaned out 3 times with no success & after reading about your week long soak bringing back a head I'm now into the 5th day of soaking mine. I...
It would be unaustralian to make room in the beer fridge but our east facing garage stays a lot cooler than anywhere in the house so I might store the inks in there.
I will leave the light in the fridge so I can see my look of anticipation reflected in the bottle I'm reaching for:-)
Thanks Mike, Hat & Pharmacist. Yes I remember how you printed four patches on one sheet & used a ruler to guide the munki.I will have to try it one day.
Hat, don't forget that I tried two different cartridges before buying the OEM so my money is on the ink but who knows. The daytime temps here...
Thanks Mike I remember you asking about how much was left in the bottle & I forgot to answer but it has been on my mind ever since you asked that's why I went & got a new cart this morning so we could eliminate or incriminate the ink:) Well it was the ink, the new cart of ink is making...
Thanks Martin & Hat. I suppose the ink could be the problem because my 4oz bottles last for over a year & my inks are about that old with about 1" left in each bottle.
Yes I do turn the bottles upside down & give them a shake before refilling.
I have two of each cart & both magenta carts give...
Gday All
I couldn't buy a PGI9 cart locally so I gave one of my magenta carts a rolls royce clean job. Two flushes with cold filtered water, four flushes with very warm water & two flushes with windex I the cart looks perfect.
The nozzle check looks about the same as does the print head...
Thanks Hat & Mike. OK I will buy a new magenta cart as that's the only way we can move on if the cart isn't the problem. My hopes are not too high because I don't know what the odds are of two magenta carts giving the same problems at the same time. Mind you one could have been malfunctioning &...
........ use this as a cleaning cartridge to pull windex through the printhead..................
Do I put the cart filled with Windex in the printer & run a clean?
I have just washed out a cart with filtered water & the printout is just the same as before although the nozzle check looked better...
............is the direction of the chevron printing from the top to bottom or bottom? I assume the printhead is printing horizontally across the images shown...............
Yes it's printed horizontally across the images & from top to bottom.
.................have you flushed through the...
Thanks Peter & Mike:-) Some of my shots posted above might give you the wrong idea because they were all taken with my camera & flash so the light spots Peter is seeing is just glare from the flash. If you just concentrate on where I have marked the shots this shows the problem areas, sorry...
