Thanks Jose that's a great relief I thought I was going to have to buy a few new carts. Quite a few of the carts I have emptied have stayed collapsed & 4 or 5 have expanded.
I will try with the 30ml syringe & do it the way you suggest.
Gday all, I have been emptying the ink out of my PGI9 carts so I can refill them with the new ink formulation from Precision Colors. I used a syringe & the clip adapter to suck the old ink out & was careful not to pull the vacuum too hard but now I have a few carts where the bag inflates on its...
I may have misunderstood but reading this thread it appears to be saying that we can't profile our paper using the Fine Art media setting. This is the case when using A4 size paper because the enforced border prevents the whole Colormunki patch from printing but how I do it is to use an A3+...
Thanks for doing the comparison Jose. The new inks look terrific I can't believe we can now use the 9500 on luster or gloss with hardly any gloss differential. This is great news & thanks to Mike for doing the work.
Yes I'm still happy with the pro9500 especially printing on Canon Fine Art Natural Matte paper. The prints look terrific. I have to buy the paper from B&H in NY as they don't sell it down here.
Both my printers the pro9000 & pro9500 seem to be going along without any problems so I haven't seen you lot for a while although I do pop in to keep an eye on you.
Just wanted to say Gday as I've learnt so much from you all here.
Anyhow behave yourselves:-)
Enjoyed the video Jose & like you say maybe not a lot in it but I will redo all my print profiles with the Canon color management tool to see if I can squeeze just a tad more out of my Pro9500 IS inks combo.
One strange thing has happened as I was getting a banding with very slight lighter bands about 3/8" 10mm apart in solid black backgrounds only on Cotton matte fine art paper, it still printed fine on Luster paper though. The bands were hard to see & I didn't see them but my Daughter pointed them...
I have good results with Canon Fine Art Matte Natural & also their Fine art Bright, both 100% cotton papers which I think are made by Hahnemuhle. Bought from B&H.
As the Hat said we can't see any difference between 8bit & 16bit but Canon say with the XPS driver & sending a 16bit file to the printer we can get slightly better graduations so I use 16 bit just in case there's a slight improvement.
Excellent work Joe & I have enjoyed your videos. Will the Krylon help to stop the dye inks fading as I know my Pro9000 prints would only last a month or so before fading without being behind glass. I have some dye ink prints that have been up on the wall for about 5 years with no fading.
Thanks all it's nice to see you all again:-)
I had just received three different types of paper from B&H & started to make profiles for them when I saw that smudging & funny colour on the colormunki test patch sheet but the nozzle check didn't show any problems like it did last time. Again I...
