I figured just for the heck of it, I would print out the image with a profile (IP4500, Hobbicolors and Kodak cheap glossy paper). I scanned it back in, applied my scanner profile and converted to sRGB. Now it does NOT match the original image exactly, it does however MATCH the SOFT PROOF of the...
mrelmo.. some will really disagree here but you're close enough that I would say you properly used the profile in your software which was not the case in your original post. I've used one of mike's profiles in the past and it was quite good so I would trust that your print is now OK if you were...
I had my cyan block up on me twice in two weeks.. I had soaked it for hours the first time and it seemed fine. The second time, I gave it another go, rinsing the ink inlet side under fairly warm water then after a minute switch to the ink outlet side. after about 5 minutes, a bit of cyan poured...
There is way too much red in the bottom image. I completely agree with mikling, I would start out with sRGB. AdobeRGB or ProPhoto might be able to produce slightly better pictures, but you'll need to convert to sRGB anyways before sending anything to the outside world.
But getting your monitor...
I'll post the profiles here when they are done. They are common paper types, and Octoink sells Image Specialists ink I believe? Other printers use the same print head MP990 MG6140 MG6150 MG8140 and MG6150. There shouldn't be any licensing issues since I'm doing them using ArgyllCMS and i'm...
MP640, I'd be willing to make a profile for you, for free. Made with a Colormunki and Argyll. I just got the device and would love an opportunity to use it a bit :) I've made a few profiles for myself, they seemed to be pretty good. Much better than my Profile Prism ones every were. All I...
So I got the printer.. the seller gave me a 150 pack of Kirkland paper he wasnt using, so it's like buying paper and getting a free printer lol.
It was not used in a long time, and needed about 2 cleans to get a good nozzle check.
It's has a bit of a weird behavior.. If I turn it OFF for a...
Thank you santer, thanks for the inkowl suggestion. I have dealt with them before for a Canon chip resetter a couple of years ago, and I could not for the life of me remember their name. I'll give them a call, they are pretty close to home to I could probably avoid shipping. I also found...
Sorry to resurect an old thread, but I have a colormunki on order. I'm using Linux so I will be using ArgyllCMS. I have some Letter size paper i'd like to profile when I receive the unit, how would one adapt your workflow to that paper size? thanks
HI everyone, I don't know if this type of post is acceptable or not, if so, the mods can't remove the thread no hard feelings.
My wife had a MFC-5890CN brother printer. The printed died very early out of waranty (none of the nozzle fire correctly except black.. sometimes).
I have a set of inks...
Hello,
I needed a wide format printer so that my wife could print from AutoCAD. Nothing she will give clients, more like drafts for herself. Previously, she used a Brother MFC-5890CN, but it didn't last very long, none of the nozzles are firing anymore.
I found a used Epson 1280. It's a very old...
First child? I remember everyone telling me to get some rest while I still could.
Believe me, no amount of rest will help. The first week with your newborn will
totally drain you :) I remember thinking "What I have done? I won't get through
this!" (my son cried *a lot* as a newborn!)
Still...
Hello everyone,
a friend of mine recently got a HP D2560 printer.
It uses HP 60 and 60XL cartridges.
He knows I refill my printer carts, so he asked me how it could be done
with his printer. Easy enough, rip the stickers on top of the cart, the refill
holes are there.. so far so good. (the...
I'm currently running Windows 7 Enterprise RTM, 64 bit edition.
No problems with UAC shifting the display colors (at least as far as the monitor is concerned)
The Gamma loader that comes with the Spyder2Pro works fine (my background changes significantly when the LUT table is loaded, so I...
In your position, I would probably look for a used 5 cartridge Canon printer that uses either CLI-8 or BCI-6 cartridges. (Dye black, cyan, magenta and yellow for graphics and pictures, and a pigment black cartridge for text). The IP4500 comes to mind, it's a good all around printer (not...
Is there any chance that the gromet between the cartridge and the printhead may be damaged? If any air is getting in, you would have feed problems.
I would also try saturating the purge pad with amonia, wait about an hour and run a head clean (normal, not deep clean). If the purge lines are...
