Canon IP4500 to give away.
I had replaced it because one of the color channels quit working and no amount of cleaning would bring it back.
Free to anyone who needs parts but buyers pays shipping. I'm in Canada but willing to ship anywhere provided tracking is used.
I bought a pack last week and toyed around with it. I think it may be the same as the previous double-sided matte. The new package does not say but it is inkjet coated on both sides and is the same size mil/gsm.
I ran a profile with ArgyllCMS, using the Ultra Premium Matte Paper setting on...
The CIS route could be tempting, but I would assume the same ARC chips are used than on the refillables, where you need to remove/reinsert the carts to have them register as full. I have a feeling eventually the valves on the cart would give out and this same annoying problem would return. I...
Hi everyone, I had not used my R2000 printer in a while. Started using it again last week.
Made some beautiful prints from my trip to Europe last year.
When my cartridges hit "empty", I removed them, filled them and reset the chips (these are battery powered carts from Precision Colors). Half...
For my WP-4090 I just picked up a set of cheap refillables off aliexpress and use cheap dye ink. Never had any problems. But buying from China is always a gamble. You may have to fight a bit with the seller if you get bad chip, etc. I was in no rush for the Workforce Pro so could accept that...
If you are looking strictly for black and white prints, have you considered using a black and white inkset in your Epson 1400? search for piezography K6 or K7 on Google you may find something you like.
To be honest, I dont know... I've not had to install these drivers. My older Canon scanner works just fine with xsane or simplescan (they scan to images or PDF). I'd recommend you try and report back (the info may be useful to others)
Canon has Linux drivers on their web site in both .DEB (Debian/Ubuntu) and .RPM (Fedora/RHEL). There is Scangear package as well

bluecrabby, I have an IP4500 here that needs a printhead... (or maybe like your printer something else is wrong). If you want to get rid of them let me know. I have other printers, but always nice to have another working one.
I'm surprised no one suggested to try the Canon ink in the brother printer... ;) I wouldnt be surprised to see it work since Piezo heads are somewhat forgiving.
congrats websnail. beautiful baby and I love the pic with her protective older brother. How old is he? I myself have two kids with quite an age difference... my younger one is 10 months old, and my older one is 10 years. You will love watching these two interract. It's already obvious just...
Thanks Joe... I really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work! I dont know where you find the time/energy to do these, while taking/printing so many nice pictures. I'm thrilled when I find time to open Lightroom to post-process my stuff. I was wondering if you would be able to tell me where to...
fotofreak, I can think of two reasons.. the first being the cost. These papers are really inexpensive. The other one is archival properties (it's debatable). Some say that a paper with an inkjet receptive coating will not last as long as a paper without one.
After looking at Joe's show and tell videos again, I gave the watercolor papers another try tonight. This time around I loaded the paper from the rear, manual tray, and enabled the "reduce scraping" feature. I'm not sure why using the rear tray worked better than the regular paper feed, but it...
I didn't have much luck with any watercolor paper paper when I tried. I had a pad of Canson paper (blue pad) and some Fabriano. Images looked no better than plain paper. Maybe I'm just expecting too much who knows.
I'm using an Epson R2000 with Precision Color inks, if anyone tested this combo...
Hi everyone, I know this has been discussed before in the forum, but a reminder is always useful.
I got my first head clog on an Epson R2000 printer. I try one clean + nozzle check... worse... another one... worse again! I decide not to run a third clean. I turn it off and let it sit...
