I have not resolved this yet. My work around was to load Windows 7 on an old laptop and all the printing that calls for paper from cassette 2, I print from it.

Turns out it was a bad chip on my magenta cart. Mike from Precision Colors sent me a new one and now the printer is back online. Thanks Mike!

I have noticed that sometimes the ink monitoring will go from full to low with no gradations in between. I just wrote that off as printing a few images that favored that one color. Currently, I have 3 sets that I rotate... and this only happened a couple of times.

To tell the truth, I never actually weighed the CLI-42 carts and did a comparison between OEM filled and how much I actually fill them to.

Thanks Joe... I was having an argument with someone and they insist that canon makes setup carts. In all the Pro-100 printers I have, they are ALL the same size.

For the carts that are included with the Pro-100, are they "setup" carts with less ink OR are all the carts the "standard" size carts?

What appears to be evaporation is usually just the sponge getting a bit more saturated.

I tape mine as I don't want an accident on the carpet... and it gives me peace of mind.

I have 2 that just went "Low"... 56.10 grams and the second is 54.68 grams.

Mine did hit "Low" first... I just didn't think to weigh it.

I had my first "Declared Empty" cart this morning and it weighed in at 48 grams. I'll keep an eye on when the others hit their "Low" and "Declared Empty".
