Thanks. Not difficult at all - didn't even have to sign up I could try phoning Canon but stupidly I've already started using non-Canon inks before resolving the problem (even though I'm not sure if it's a problem or supposed to be doing this) so I've probably invalidated my warranty I think?

OK, I've shortened it so you won't have the pleasure of watching my printer doing nothing for 1 minute! Basically I print that A4 out (in the tray) then just over a minute later this happens (see video). If I print something else the whole thing happens again, and again etc. Is this right...

Yes maybe, but it doesn't do anything else 'wrong'. The monitoring seems fine, print quality ok. I just wish that I could stop it from going through this cycle so quickly, I mean, how often do they need to be cleaned?

Yes, five cards five times. 300GSM card, but does it with normal A4 100GSM or envelopes. I have just changed the original Canon cartridges to aftermarket ones but there's no difference there - it was happening since I bought it. No other issues, thanks. If I'm quick I can print without it...
