I think some of them are genuinely excellent and well made. I like contrasty photos generally, although some of them fall into the category of high contrast just because we can, and not because it improves the picture. HDR is great if it quietly serves a purpose without drawing attention to...
Cartridges do not ordinarily wear out, although some people do wind up replacing them sometimes, for reasons that are not clear to me. I think you can expect a $100 refill kit to replace hundreds of dollars (or more) of OEM ink, and then you will still have cartridges.
Some third-party...
I think the PC inks for your printer are all new, from a different manufacturer than he used in the past, so I don't know anything about fade resistance. In the past, I compared inks by smearing diluted ink carefully onto paper and comparing them in sunlight or intense fluorescent light (in...
You might try the new(?) Precision Colors inks, and if those work well for you, you're in luck. I have had good luck with InkTec and OCP inks for my HP, although some colors are more fade-resistant than others. (My HP printer uses virtually the same technology as Canon, so I would expect maybe...
Well, if you use non-OEM cartridges, you will not get OEM ink. But in any case, as I recall, Precision Colors claims that it's too much of a pain to refill the originals for that printer, so they sell replacement cartridges that they recommend for refilling. They also sell ink, of course. I...
You don't need to use ethanol. I suggest distilled water instead, if you can get it. I don't know about Vietnam, but in many parts of the world, ethanol is usually sold with dissolved material that will be left behind as a residue.
OK, if you don't believe us, then you can be the first to try it, and report back. Who knows? It might actually work.
For everyone else, I really don't recommend it.
About testing, generally, I found that certain dye inks fade dramatically, and much faster than others on all media I tested (including CDs) and under different conditions. It did not require sophisticated or prolonged testing to discover that. I don't know how to scale the results to my...
I just refilled those, and indeed they can hold a lot more ink. Final weights:
M564XL: 27.10 g
PK564XL: 28.50 g.
Refilled by the Freedom method with three pumps of the syringe. I think they would have taken more -- probably close to 30 g -- but I don't need to push it.
As sold, the...
Using both. The short answer: no problems.
HP Photosmart Premium with HP564XL cartridges and 3rd party ink (different brands), has pigment black + 4 color dye. No problem ever with clogging.
Canon 9500 II is OEM dye. Gets plugged in about once a year. No problems.
EDIT: I meant the 9000...
Our usually recommended suppliers apparently don't handle those inks. I did see this: http://www.amazon.com/JetSir-Pigment-Printer-Cartridge-Officejet/dp/B0113MMSIA/ref=sr_1_23?ie=UTF8&qid=1440345574&sr=8-23&keywords=HP950+ink . It looks like the same brand as this...
