I've just been looking at a video on assembling/fixing a cheap kit which ships from China to the UK for £120:ep. But some of the fixes look beyond my capabilities. I like the way many people appear to buy it, do enough workarounds to get it doing some minimal printing, then print extra parts to...
One thing useful to me would be boxes used for electronics gadgets I make. Something like this:
with some means of screwing the lid into the body. This one is 150x90x50mm, maybe too big for your printer. A box this size costs about £7.50 to buy...
I looked at 3D printers quite a few years ago when there were a few guys locally building their own. At that time outside of the maker community no one had heard of 3D printing. Of course there were no commercial models available at that time. I was interested in other things and decided not to...
I'm sure you're correct. I'm just desperately trying to think of reasons not to buy one of these things. I have a load of other things I'm working on which I know will not get done if I start on 3D printing.
I spend a lot of time poisoning myself with soldering fumes when building electronics projects. I thought switching to 3D printing might be safer. Now I'm not so sure.
Sorry. Temporary moment of confusion here. I had a cartridge in front of me when I posted, the print head was soaking in solution in the garage.
Any idea why Canon changed to oval outlets on the PGI-x50/CLIx51 cartridges?
Thanks. I'll try one of these methods. I can't think of any tubing that would stretch to seal round the elliptical inlet port. Did you have anything in mind?
I am storing an MX925 for an indeterminate period. I plan to store the print head using Pharmacist's solution. The instructions are to condition the print head using deep cleaning.
I've had the printer for a while and have executed a deep cleaning cycle more than once. I'm concerned about...
Thanks for finding this thread. It's really bad news. I just bought a new print head from Tasktron for my other MX925 last week. There had been continual problems with the compatible cartridges used in the other printer, so I was not too surprised I had to replace the print head there. But I've...
Any suggestions what is causing the fine double vertical lines in the PGBK grid in the attached nozzle check for a Canon MX925?
Edit: the PDF I attached bears no resemblance to the file I uploaded, which does not have broken lines. I'll have to get a better image somehow.
Better PDF attached...
Well, I'm hoping I won't trash any more print heads. I think my problems were due to not using OEM cartridges for refilling. I'll be using Canon from now on.
I'm sure you're right, though at the moment he doesn't stock it. Also there's currently no resetter for the cartridges. Anyway, a Maxify is a printer I'll look at if it's still around when my MX925 dies.
£59 inc tax at CRC
A new MX925 is mostly about £120, but I found Amazon are now selling at £100.
I did look at a Maxify, but only Octopus in Germany are supporting refilling near me. It's unclear at the moment how Brexit will affect future shipments from the EU. You don't have that problem...
