New Light Standard Design... I hope...

@The Hat I've just found this thread after being away from the forum for a while. It's brilliant, especially following the step by step history of the lamppost's creation:thumbsup What tool did you use for the design?

    Hi Everyone

Welcome, Brinkley. I'm in the Canon and 3D forums, but my Canon printer has just died. Who knows, I might be joining you in the Epsom forum.

    Feed mechanism on MX925?

Thanks for the response and suggestions. The print head was replaced about 2 years ago. I don't want to risk trying another one. So this MX925 will have to go. I've been using Canon printers for some time. I think the first was an ip4500. Every time I get a new printer, the cartridges are more...

    Feed mechanism on MX925?

I've had the dreaded B200 error twice recently on my MX925. I doubt if it's the cartridge, because each time it's stopped in the middle of a page with the paper stuck half out the exit slot. The display says to try switching off and on, and to contact the service centre. I've been able to pull...

    UK - Filament sources

Well, I've never had any problems with PETG. I've not tried ABS, because I don't fancy using it two feet from me in my study because of health hazards. I wasn't that keen on using PLA near me either, and have found PETG better in that respect, as well as being stronger and more flexible than...

    UK - Filament sources

I've not been using my printer for 18 months. The printer has been in a closed cupboard in the garage. The filament I was using was inside the house in a vacuum sealed bag. I've had to print something for a project I'm working on. I resurrected the printer and the filament. The vacuum in the...

3D Print Project - 2 Gang Wall Plate With Blank

This would be wasted on @The Hat. It's always raining where he is.:D

3D print bubble bursted, what brands are still floating?

I've been building my own desktop PCs for about 25 years. OK, I've not been assembling these from individual stepper motors, sensors etc in quite the same way as my 3D printer, but I have selected which components to include in a new PC. Also, I've been continually extending or repairing my PC...

    35mm film scanners inquiry

That's the scanner I'd been considering. I just didn't want to pay for ICE when I couldn't use it. How was it for ease of copying? Some scanners have really flimsy slide trays that are difficult to use.

    35mm film scanners inquiry

I've been meaning to buy a cheapish 35mm scanner for years. Tomorrow I'm having the house redecorated and have been moving boxes and boxes of old 35mm slides to the garage - slides that I intended to have digitised by now. So that's why I hit on this thread today. My main problem is that I'm...

    Moisture, Beware...

Suppose you lived in a state that somehow managed to secede from the US against your wish. That's how I feel about having my EU citizenship removed.

    Moisture, Beware...

When I get so depressed about brexit, and wished I lived somewhere else, I realise there are always some downsides.

    Keeping Safe

This is a safety upgrade I've been meaning to do on my Anet A8 ever since I got it last August. I ought to do it, though I never print overnight and never leave the printer unattended for long. Thanks for reminding me.

Hi - new member with an Anet A2

I've not tried (unlike others on this forum one printer is quite enough for me). But yes, you can for example. I just use an old Pi I bought a few years ago and never used. It works fine at the speeds I use on one printer. Whether it would do so with >1 printer at higher speeds I don't know...

Bed Adhesion - tricks and tips?

I've been using PETG for a while with 2mm glass, nothing on it. The glass is held on the bed with 6 small PETG clips I printed. The bed is at 90°C. I usually use a brim. The prints come off really easily. I have two pieces of glass. When a print is done, I undo the clips and put the glass on...

Hi - new member with an Anet A2

The great thing about Octopi is it's running on the Raspberry Pi, which is a server. If your computer's connection to Octopi breaks, your PC goes to sleep or whatever, the print keeps going. It's the Pi that's sending the gcode to the printer, not the PC. If I understand Pronterface correctly...
