Best place to get 2nd set of CLI-42

My printer is the Canon Pro-100. I have been refilling the carts now for around a year. Man, it saves a ton of money. As soon as one cart shows low, I refill all carts. Not really been a problem, but it does interrupt things a bit. I’d like to get a complete 2nd set so I can do what most of you...

Is 10-bit wide gamut necessary ?

Thanks for the help @Ink stained Fingers. Could you expand a little bit on: Thanks, Martin

Is 10-bit wide gamut necessary ?

About 6 years ago I bought two wide gamut Dell U2410 monitors. I didn't realize though that I should have used a graphics card that supported 10-bits! So, for the last 6 years I'm not sure if I've really benefited - although I do think I still get a wider gamut display - which I think means less...

    Dell U2410 replacement

I am considering replacing my two Dell U2410 monitors. When I bought them I didn't understand anything about wide-gamut. Probably, like a lot of people I just assumed that being able to see more colours was a good thing (which it obviously is), but I hadn't realized some of the other side...

    Pro-10 First Use Advice

So... my highly discounted (if you include the $250 rebate) Canon Pro-10 has arrived. I already have a Pro-100 and use it with PC inks. Are there any particular best practices that I should be aware of prior to setting up? My plan would be to use the supplied OEM cartridges and then refill with...

I already have a fairly new Pro-100 so I think one will suffice for now :)

    Pro-10 for $99.99

Thanks for all the info, everyone. I've just gone ahead and ordered. I have a Pro-100 and use PC inks and get great looking images. Excited to get the Pro-10. Pitty I no longer live in the Detroit area - I could have picked it up and saved shipping... there again living in Nashville, TN is...

    Possible black cartridge issue?

Love all the responses - thanks. I'm going to do a Windex flush today and see what happens. I've done it before when I accidentally used Photo Magenta in my Magenta cart. The nice thing for me is there is never need for panic. I'm just a keen hobbyist and love to learn. I love it when I have...

    Possible black cartridge issue?

Oh - it's quite common, @PalaDolphin! Seriously, I'm aware of not going beyond the low warning message. I reset and refill ALL my cartridges when one goes low. I'm wondering though, if I accidentally missed resetting the black cartridge the last time I did this... that doesn't make sense though...

    Possible black cartridge issue?

Printer: Canon Pro-100, PC Inks. I was printing out 12 large characters yesterday in black on 13x19 Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss. The first 11 were perfect. The 12th one started to develop banding about half way through (see image below). I've done a nozzle check, deep clean and still have...

    Refilling without resetting Pro-100

So, the countdown starts once the prism allows light to shine through because the is no ink covering it, right?

Blue-ish color tint - Pro-100 and PC inks

Interesting that you mention a cartridge may be leaking. I did notice magenta ink on part of the carriage. I assumed that this had happened when last refilled that cart but had not noticed it. I think I will cut back on the amount I fill them next time. Will probably go to 75%. For refilling...

    Refilling without resetting Pro-100

Believe me everyone... I'm going to refill when the printer shows low... not a moment after. I get the arguments as to why and will certainly heed the recommendations from people on this forum. I was just interested in really understanding the process of when the countdown to empty starts. I...

    Refilling without resetting Pro-100

Not trying to fool the system or push my luck, Joe (@jtoolman). I will always reset when I top off. I'm just trying to understand the way the "system" works. My theory was that if the ink level never gets low enough that the prism is exposed to air then there would never be a LOW warning. From...

Blue-ish color tint - Pro-100 and PC inks

Update on what I did and the results: I flushed the PhotoCyan Cart with water, windex and then more water. Got it as clean as I possibly could. Filled it with PhotoCyan ink (checked and double-checked I had this correct :) ). Happy to report that the blue-ish tint has been illuminated. Here's...

    Refilling without resetting Pro-100

I think I understand what you're saying, @stratman. Resetting the chip initializes the countdown to empty, right? What is it that causes the printer to indicate low ink? Is that detected using the prism?

    Refilling without resetting Pro-100

Is there anything wrong with this method?... As soon as one of my cartridges indicates low ink I reset it and refill. I will also top-up all of the other cartridges, but will not reset. My theory is that because the other cartridges have not reached the low-ink mark the printer has not sent a...

    Yellow cartridge from Precision Colors

Ok. None of my other carts look like this so wondered if I had refilled it incorrectly or something.

    Yellow cartridge from Precision Colors

I got the cartridge from Precision Colors. Filled it once and as soon as the Pro-100 registered low I refilled. Just came to check on how the sponges were looking and this is what I see. Is this normal? I thought the bottom sponge layer was supposed to be a solid color.
