Thanks for the reply, but just a list of carts doesn't really tell me anything. Actually it makes thing more confusing.
Am I to assume all of those "cartridges" are tanks only with no printhead??
Aren't all Epson inks pigment, as opposed to Canon being dyes for colors & pigment for text for most of their printers? Then it would make sense to use Epson's formula, right?
Somehow I was under the impression that HP switched from their combined ink tank/printhead to separate carts & separate printheads. Or are they all still an integrated tank/printhead?
If so, is this combo a single printhead with all 4 tanks together, or how many colors (including black) they...
I got the 5200 that you mentioned mixed up with the 4500. Thar's why I stated what I did in my last post that something didn't seem right. :(
Too many similar model numbers.
Thanks for the input Pete,
From those reviews, there is suppose to be something around 1k more nozzles in the 67 over the 61. Nothing about specific colors. In some of the ads I noticed the test nozzle printouts are different and more complex from the 4300 to the 4500 which came out a year...
A iP4300 uses a qy6-0061 printhead. I believe I read a -067 PH is for for a iP5200.
But, I see dozens of listings (not just e-bay) for a 0061 PH for both a iP4300 & a iP5200.
Can qy6-0061 be used in a iP5200? According to a couple of older reviews, the nozzle count is greater in the 67 than...
I'm the jerk? Why, because I didn't throw the printer out the window? o_O
I didn't ignore anyone. And no, I didn't know the "score" as you put it since as I stated, I wasn't aware of this error being a this big of a issue.
A little juvenile isn't it? Something Dictator Trump would do or say. I wished he would of hit his car which he would of deserved!
As to the "ultrasound", I wouldn't even think of it.
FWIW, I placed one of my two spare 4300's in service with a 'preserved', used printhead installed. Not...
I don't believe in giving up easily. It doesn't hurt to explore all possibilities, There is nothing to loose and everything to gain by at least the added experience. A few more hours makes a learning experience, which is worth it even if the problem isn't fixed. I'm not suggesting days, just a...
Anyway, based on this situation, the fact the unit is 'locked' for a possible bad printhead and I can't do a reset (remove power for 10 minutes) or enter the service mode, assuming after I remove the printhead, if the machine does power up normally and the carriage moves as it would with no...
Pete,
You are preaching to the choir. I found some of that out over two years ago and discovered the rest two+ months ago with this iP4300. After two years of flawless prints got the dreaded 5 flashing orange error. I purchased two spare heads when I purchased the used 4300 thinking they were...
I haven't opened it up yet, but can the carts & PH be removed without turning that wheel to unlock the park position and sliding the carriage out to the middle of the printer?
Also, does this scenario point to the logic board being the culprit as in 'it's toast'?
Canon planned obsolescence!
I feel your pain. When I switched from a "i" series (i560) to the 'iP" series (iP4300) I did so based on the bulk ink stock I already had which was only a couple years newer. Other than re-using the ink, there was a Win& driver package available unlike the i560...
This error that I never experienced or heard of before (until now). Out of no where when I was going to print this error showed.
The cyan cart was low at the time, I was going to print a single page, but this occurred.
I read a number of posts elsewhere and two much older here stating it's the...
According to Canon's service literature (for the ip4500 which is basically the same unit), the printhead should not be stored in the printer and the carriage should be in the "Home" position (middle of the printer slide rail).
Reading further in the manual, under "Special Notes On Servicing"...
Ok, I found it. The indented check box wasn't checked. One would figure all methods of 'notifications' (alerts or otherwise) would be on the same page.
The "receive email notifications" I was describing is under the (more options) reply box. Just checking those 'Alert" choices does nothing.
Ok, I get that, but how can one troubleshoot a printing problem if you don't know if it is the logic board or the printhead?
Throw out both?
Is this ridiculous problem still present with the current printers or did someone come up with a redesigned logic board and/or printhead that doesn't take...
