Thanks.
The printer is printing blank pages. However, the status monitor doesn't show the black cartridge as empty. Could the nozzle be clogged? I acquired this printer from someone else, so I have no idea how long it's been since it printed.
I want to test it, but don't want to buy ink unless...
Hi all:
I have acquired a Stylus Photo 1400. The ink button is flashing red, indicating ink needs replacing. Will this error clear and will I be able to print black if I just replace the black cartridge, or do I have to replace all the ones that are low/empty? Again, I only need to print black...
Have you done any simple continuity tests from end of plug to power cable exit to power supply terminals? Maybe the problem is as simple as a faulty power cord, bad power switch or contact.
Use a DMM. These are super easy things to test.
And before you try stripping down solder joints, I'd...
I replaced the feeder cam lever and the separation pad. Nothing has changed. I still hear whirring, followed by what sounds like the roller trying to pick up paper followed by a No paper error.
Can anyone help?
Hi all:
I came across a Brother DCP-7060D. The page count is about 6500 pages.
It has two problems. The first problem is that it prints from the manual feed tray, but not from the main cassette.
When I try to print from the cassette, I hear what sounds like rollers moving and it sounds like...
Oops! Yes, that was a typo. Indeed, it is the CP2025. I changed the thread title and content to reflect that.
I did the hack of putting a piece of paper in between the solenoid pieces. Removing the parts required to be able to remove the solenoid is way too much work. I think it's working now...
Well:
1. It's relatively private. Governments and corporations are snooping on more and more of our Internet traffic. In many countries, it's now all traffic and;
2. Medical facilities with whom I need to communicate insist on it, so I don't have much choice there.
But with a laser-based fax...
Hi everyone:
I have an HP CP2025 that is still not picking up paper even after replacing the pickup rollers and separation pads. Apparently, it's due to a solenoid which gets stick from the padding eventually wearing.
You can just put paper in between the solenoid tab and the solenoid, but I'm...
Well, I realized that the damage was not to the printer base, but the paper drawer. I figure that this is not the worst thing that could happen, compared to the base being damaged. So I'm going to remove the other packing materials and test it today. I'll post back with my results.
There's...
Hi:
I just received a Brother 2840 laser fax. It was never used, but appears to have been damaged in shipping. Attached are some photos of the damage (as far as I found).
From what I can tell, damage was mostly related to a part of the bottom, as it seems to have come apart/delaminated from...
Thanks. Unforunately, the reason I'm here asking is I've been through
a decent number of service manuals and user guides and I haven't
found any yet that include that info.
I used Google, I called the manufacturers. "No one knows" they told
me. Nonsense. This kind of info. used to be included...
I'll actually be testing used printers. When I help buy for family
members, I compare what's new-ish with what's older,
because as you know, many older models are generally built
like tanks compare with today's models.
Often, I"m talking to ebay sellers or sellers of used gear
on other...
Hi everyone:
I have a couple of printers I'm checking out here. I always wondered, are there common
key combinations for printing self-test pages on MFCs/laser printers/laser faxes?
I just contacted Brother, who by the way have discontinued all phone support. A Brother support rep on Live Chat...
Well, as it turns out, the problem was just pieces of paper and masking
tape stuck in the ADF rollers. After I removed those, the unit mostly feeds
paper fine into the ADF. Another win for Canon reliability.
That's kind of what I was thinking, thanks.
Looking at the reviews on Amazon.com and Newegg.com, some of the
consumer-grade Brother models seem to have the same cheap gear
problem that plagued many earlier Brother laser printers.
I'm going to take another look at the Canon lineup.
She needs...
Hi everyone:
My cousin works in healthcare. She's not allowed to use any type of scanner that goes
to her computer due to healthcare regulations.
Her old film-based Sharp is dying and not worth fixing. Now, my cousin needs something
laser-based that uses plain paper. She needs something really...
