    Borderless any size

I should have mentioned that I really don't want to trim the photo paper any further. You might have noticed that I used the term "pieces", because they are already small. For the latest batch only about 2.5"x5", so there is not much paper left for trimming. I understand very well the issue...

    Borderless any size

As many have discovered, "borderless" does not work for "all" paper sizes and types. Certainly not on my Pro-100 (so far my only complaint about this printer). I get my photo paper custom cut from a bulk purchase, which really reduces the per photo paper cost. However it also means I have a...

why is this forum so active? no flaming, please!

I can only speak for Canon. I had an i9900 for years, and had no problems. Back then I used OEM and third party carts, actually interchangeably without any compatibility problems. I replaced the i9900 when the signs pointed at a motherboard issue. What I bought 4 years ago is the PIXMA...

    Canon Wireless

I stand corrected. I just passed on my experience. I have removed the 'somewhat'.

    Canon Wireless

@Gunny. That sounds correct, if I remember correct, it's been a while. So don't connect the cable until the program tells you. @stratman is correct, but I still put my money on the WiFi connection install sequence from the Canon CD and the USB cable. At least it solved my install issue.

    Canon Wireless

Sorry I can't speak for the TS5020, but my Pro-100 gave me similar problems, until I found an Internet instruction to first connect the printer to the PC with the USB cable, and then use the program on the Canon CD to install the "wireless". The install program does go through some hokey pokey...

Chosing between the Canon Pro-100 and G-4200 for printing CD sleeves

I can only add regarding the Pro-100. For heavy card stock is see some difficulty, because there is no true "rear" tray, as in "straight through", like my i9900 had. However I have printed much on photo quality paper without difficulty, or without any paper crinkle of envelopes. If you are...

Where to buy Canon Pro-100 carts?

Hello @MikeH: I have purchased 2 set used OEM CLI-42 carts very successfully from OctoInkjet. Way less than the $100-$125 you see on eBay. But they are not always in stock, so keep checking their website, that's what I did for my second set. I then flushed, dried, and refilled them without...

    Always this messy?

@PalaDolphin, I hate to ask, but you didn't forget to plug the hole. Sorry to ask such a basic question, but when you have such a consistent mess, with "so much" ink leaking out, it's at least a good point to make. In any case, I know what you mean, as my sub-line says, "Getting Fingers...

    Confused

@Trey: you can refill without flushing the OEM inks (except yellow; see below), unless you are very concerned about exact color matching. On the one hand, PC inks are very close, especially for non-photo graphics. On the other hand, if mixed, the new inks take more than one refill to become...

    Sources for empty CLI-42 cartridges?

Regarding when you buy CLI-42 carts from OctoInkjet, do recognize that they are used. To flush or not to flush is your choice. I flushed with Windex and water, and dried them. So you don't get ink all over, figure out how to hold the carts or what you can rig up to hold the carts, or where...

How clean is a clean flush

Until recently I have for years been using a vendor at the local market to refill my carts. That was for the i9900. He won't do the CLI-42 for the Pro-100. He says to finicky and not enough after-market business for him. OK, so I started my own refilling, There were some bumps, which are...

    Pro 1 Set up

I have similar problems when I re-install my Pro-100 drivers via network, cable or wifi. The only install that works trouble-free is the downloaded Canon install file (not the Windows "add printer") and the direct USB cable connection. After the initial install, I can use the printer via...

    Refill gone awry

Hello all. Reporting back that I had good success with @PeterBJ suggestion about Canon OEM carts from OctoInkjet. I found that there is no concern about postage from the UK to Canada, it is actually "way" cheaper than from the US, easyily 50%, and "faster" for the comparable delivery service...

    Refill gone awry

@jtoolman, you are the best. Thanks for your obviously getting old explanation of what chips are needed. I understand it now. To confirm how correct you are, I just had a call from PC and they explained the same thing to me. Because of my lack of understanding they allowed me to cancel my...

    Refill gone awry

Hi @The Hat. Your advice is well taken. I believe I do have the right frame of mind for refilling. In one form or another I have been refilling for years, but it has been haphazard (you could read half a..ed). That's why I am doing this go-round, to get a better understanding of the details...

    Refill gone awry

I have actually been expecting your advice to find Canon OEM carts. On re-reading my post, and watching numerous videos, it sort of pops out. Get the best. It not only makes refilling easier without issues, but they are way less likely to develop sponge problems during use, which can lead to...

    Refill gone awry

WOW. I sense emotions. I actually feel chastised. But duly so. I accept the chastising, I know it is given with good intent. WOW. Why did I use the G&G? I don’t really know. I suppose because they were available at the booth at our local market, where I had been getting carts refilled...

    Refill gone awry

Thanks for all your replies. I had watched the good videos from Jose. Unfortunately they don't mention anything about the carts (see attached). First I need to apologies, that I referenced the wrong carts. Sorry, I didn't look, I assumed I had OEM Canon. In fact I have G&G filled...

    Refill gone awry

Refilled Canon CLI-42 carts with Precision Inks. I probably missed a step or two, because the outcome is very unsatisfactory. But I am not complaining about the inks. I am sure I missed something due to lack of understanding. The cartridges are Canon CLI-42 (for Pro-100), with a large tank...
