Hi, As I wrote elsewhere, I use MS Publisher for desktop publishing. It has a setting to "Save as" in B&W. That way I don't have to fiddle with printer settings.
Hi @Herb, I suspect that that is more likely driven by the software you use. If it sends no black signals, then the printer won't use black. It doesn't know that you are trying to simulate black.
There are two ways to achieve this, either at the printer or at the software. Look for...
Interesting, would be a nice replacement for my Pro-100, it is still functioning nicely. (psst, i am hiding this email from my printer, wouldn't want it spooked). Interesting will be how the Pro-1100 self-refilling will go. As such, what will I need to replace, are refill inks even available...
The Hat is correct, it's quit a learning curve. I am glad I did back a while. See some of my early posts (sorry getting those links has not been successful), but in general I would point to https://www.youtube.com/@cheo1949 to get excellent advice from Jose.
I am concerned that with new...
I did not know that. Goes against "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" ^_^.
I want to mentions, it is amazing how persistent you are in answering us all the time, just awesome. Thanks The Hat.
I would worry that printing a lot "with" a blocked channel would just make the clog harden because if that channel is needed for a particular image there is heating involved. It is of course a minute of a minute of a minutes amount of a heating pulse, but I dare say the effect is cumulative...
Wouldn't it be smart to do a simple soak in Windex Original for a while. How long a "while" I am never sure about how long before there is a chance to be damaging. If there is no damage issue, then I would. OK I have to admit I have done it for my Pro-100, a while ago, I did a soak overnight...
Love them all you can. They don't stay children. Then wait for the grandkids. If we would have know how nice grandkids are we would have had them first.:weee:weee
All the Best, Fritz,
with apologies for sending lovie messages on a printer forum.
It is nice to hear that OctoInkjet still gives good service. Martin was very helpful back in 2017. I was in the program for testing (their) new inks, and all went really well. Being happy, I just placed a new big order with them.
Hi The Hat. From now on I am calling you Mister. I had discounted the sewing needles for being too thick. But following your advice I gave my dear wife's pin-cushion a second chance and dug up the finest needle I could find. And I had success. The plug was at the outlet end. Obviously the...
Hello All from the cold of Canada. As the subject says the fill bottle needle is plugged. I use OctoInkjet inks. It uses bottles with fairly small diameter needles. A great system that I have used for years. But alas, one of the needles has plugged say 90%. I can squeeze some "small" drops...
@David.4, are you in any need of flushing the cartridges? Otherwise there is very little need for Windex. For any other cleaning I hardly use Windex, simply damp napkins.
Hi Max (sorry David; or is it just 4).
That would go back toooo long ago.
I had started with Precision but then had shipping issues across the border.
I live in Canada and back not too many years we (the small time receivers) almost always had been given trouble with shipments from the south...
@brwinters, you are right it's not bulletproof. I had a few printed, so these will go out that way. If they smear I'll blame the post (not nice, but hey...). I won't do it again, now that I know. It's not something I "have" to do anyway. I already made use of another suggestion above, a...
Hi All, luckily I could leave the photos back up open to the air for almost a week now. Just to report, the inks is essentially dry, except for heavy smearing. It's dry enough now that I can put the photos, back to back with perhaps onion skin between, in an envelope to send out with Christmas...
Once again, good advice.
I will see if I can find either some of the paper that has "paper" on the back, for the photos that I need to mark up, my writing is just not nice enough for "archival" notes. I will need to keep using my regular paper for all the other photos. I had bought a big...
As the subject says, I need to find a way of drying the ink printed on the back of my photos. In an attempt to provide extra information for details, particularly people, shown in the photos I printed that information on the back side.
This information seems to be wanted by the younger...
Hi, I have been using OctoInkjet inks for my Pro-100 for a long time. That supplier sent me a set of Precision Color (Dyebase 2) bottles which they were testing a couple of years ago. I don't know anything about those inks.
My question here is, does anyone have knowledge if those inks are...
