Consider refilling using the "German" method-just do a search here- and empty OEM(Canon) cartridges with a good ink like Hobbicolors.The OEM "empties" are likely better than ANY aftermarket cartridges for refills.

If you don't already know ,try to print a page EVERY week to prevent PH clogging and susequent failure.It wastes a little ink,but saves PHs.

Another way is to heat the screw and push it into the ball.Let it cool a bit and the plastic ball adheres well.Then pull it out.No drilling.
