Regarding capacity:as you can see,it's not possible to get this exact due to several factors(like HOW saturated the sponge is).Just do the best you can.My experience is that it takes a little practice.....some trial and error. But once you hit the sweet spot,it works great.
The reason that I...
I agree!I always "milk the cartridge" by squeezing the sides after refilling. It doesn't matter what refilling technique one uses,it's possible to oversaturate. So why not take a few seconds to be safe and squeeze the cartridge?
If I am reading Petrocelli's post correctly,he's doing as you say(letting the sponge saturate). So the problem is that air is not going out as ink is going in.Might try holding a finger over the large outlet and *slowly* injecting more ink.Even cartridges from a factory fill are not completely...
Less than full is not a problem. But they can be filled easily as long as the needle enters the ink chamber. It MUST go past the sponge into the ink chamber and keep the cartridge flipped upside down as you slowly add ink.Air must escape as the ink goes in....so go slowly as you near "full"...
Here is Mapsy's Ebay ad for $48.97 shipped.Seems games are being played.I would assume this forum would like the best prices available! There are other resetters as low as $22 shipped...
I would do the refills. The German method is so easy and fast, safe, etc.that to me it can't be beat. That, combined with a resetter would easily be my choice.Too many variables with a CSS.

How fast(or slow) is it to generate a copy using the scanner.Do you have to scan, send file to PC,go to that file and print it?Or is it less complicated? Thanks,Fred
I'd forget about saving the OEM.The good 3rd party inks like Hobbicolors are really close to OEM(maybe as good as or better).I'd just find a good ink and stick with it.
I have an Canon MP780 all-in-one that is great. When it dies,I have three ip4200's that I'm storing(got 'em at CCity for almost nothing-no brainer) so that I'll be able to continue refilling.
I use the copy function several times a week, and would miss it if I went to a printer(the ip4200) that...
Just remove the cartridge and squeeze the sides to see if ink drips from the outlet. It's not dry if you get a nice drip.
More likely is a clogged nozzle.
In the instructions for the BlueSetter above,it says something about a "deactivated cartridge" not working. What does this mean?Is a typical, empty CLI8 cartridge bought on Ebay "deactivated" (for use in an ip4200)?Thanks!
