hi, gh
I knew to take along ink, but didn't think about paper. When you remove the ink, do you use the Windex mixture, or distilled or tapwater.....or something else? Do you try to dry afterwards to get water out of the nozzles?
Thanks for the help!

I'm trying to archive a few printers to be able to continue re-filling (German method). I have a nice, running ip4200 and 2x NEW ip4200's in storage. Are used Canon MP530's a good idea? I see 2 on local CL for $50 and $25 each. I think the printheads are the same on the ip4200....which have...
There are posts on using a wall wart as well as AA Alkalines(2 AA alkalines in a battery holder).

Thanks,guys....just what I thought, but wanted to be sure.
So what is the "event" that causes the chip to need to be reset. Is it the low ink warning?Or a count of something by the printer?
If you remove a chipped cartridge(in my case a CLI8 for a Canon ip4200) and immediately put it back into the printer(*same* exact cartridge),it does't require a reset, does it?
For example,I remove all my full and recently reset cartridges to add a small piece of tape over the refill holes...
I have 2 different Terumo brand needles in my hand as I type this. One needle has a small flange that would screw(lock) into a syringe with an internally threaded barrel(luer). It also will slide onto a non-threaded plastic syringe for a fairly tight fit.So it's dual use.
The other needle,an...
I've used several different plugs(including the Hobbicolors-the ink I've used for a long while) and never been fully satisfied.I have not used a plug that seals 100% tightly and 100% of the time.
Like nanosec,I never let the cartridges get dry on the "foam" side as I don't want to take a chance...
Ten seconds is EASY to accomplish. But I used needles for 30 years(until I retired) to inject anesthetic into living, breathing, moving human beings. This is WAY easier. The cartridges never move or complain.Just takes getting the cartridge into the correct position and the tactile sense to put the...
I just did a simple mod on my Sudhaus Redsetter($20 on Ebay) so that it can use AA Alkaline batteries in place of the Mitsubishi CR2032 3V "coin" battery that it uses from the factory.I planned on getting a Radio Shack AA battery holder(2 AA = 3V),but I just cheaped out and made a simple holder...
Think I'll try the heavy aluminum tape by Nashua(the REAL duct tape). It's dead-soft and molds very well.it has strong adhesive, too.I may try Blue Tac(would be very easy) if I can ascertain it will stay in place well enough.
