B&H sent me a code by email. It's possibly a single use code, so I can't send it to a friend. I don't think Adorama requires a code.
After checking out at B&H, no code was asked for there.
So my third Pro 100 is on it's way!

Must add to cart for lowest price. I'll sell the ink on Ebay and get a free printer, paper, + cash!
If it turns out that the "setup" cartridges sold with the printer are indeed different and not using them initially prevents using a resetter, I would think that having one set of these would be good enough for multiple Pro 100 printers. Then ,just using that set once on any new Pro 100 would...
It's not adding up for me, either.
$699 is the price....less $250 promo, less $250 rebate is $199. Must have waited too long. Hope the deal comes around again!
Should I sell my 2 new Pro 100 printers and buy a Pro 10?
I am an experienced refiller, but have never even used a Pro 100 or Pro 10. They are waiting for my last ip4200 to die.
I really don't want better image quality on the prints vs my ip4200. I'm more interested
in durability and ease of...
Using Canon OEM CLI-42 cartridges are the only way to go. They last through many refills and are basically trouble-free if used properly. I'd totally forget about 3rd party cartridges for refilling a Pro 100. You will save a ton of money just by refilling. The cost of a couple of sets of empties...

Like a locking plier or small forceps? I prefer the forceps because it has smooth, rounded tips.

Yes, but you would still need to remove the CLI-42 yellow chips and move them to any CLI-42 or CLI-8 (NON YELLOW) cartridge to prevent the jello effect.
Obviously, label the newly chipped one as "yellow" and toss the old yellow CLI-42s for safety.
Thanks, The Hat,
I should have mentioned that this works with the German method or top-fill. I have used German for years (but plan to try top-fill soon). But I prefer having a
hole over the tank with either method, than flushing through the "maze". It just seems a bit kinder to the sponges.
I use this. Works great, but you must not use too much water pressure. I flush and drain through the ink outlet. Then introduce a little of pharmacist's solution and suction it out to finish.
I'll probably end up with 3 or 4 of these printers, if the rebates continue. It's likely that only one of them would ever be under warranty (the others will be in storage). So, is it really worth keeping a set of OEMs? Probably not in my mind.
Thanks,
Fred
An update:
I had to order some items from both Octoinkjet...and Precisioncolors, so I picked up 2 sets of empties (better price than Ebay).
Then, I checked current Canon rebates (new for Jan 2017), on the Pro 100
and got an even better deal on my second Pro 100. I'll sell the ink from it as...
As in my original post, I am looking for empties.Even at $5 per cartridge, that's $40 for a full set plus PC ink.
Also, these rebates are frequent..........and you can ask a friend/relative to buy one for you, or just wait until the next sale.
In any event, $129 after rebate is less than $139...
