Thanks, Hat!
This is exactly the information I was looking for! I plan to store my almost full set of "OEM set-up cartridges" in case I ever need to use them on another new Pro 100 at set-up. I am a true refiller (never use OEM ink), so this is great news (and what I expected, but have never...
Hat, I actually want to use OEM cartridges that came with a new Pro 100. So, if the chips in these have any "special set-up " data that is included with a new printer, that would be applied. I would use these OEM set-up cartridges briefly, then store them so that I could use them again to...
I know that this has been a questioned proposition and I'm not sure whether there is a consensus opinion. Some say to always use the brand new set of CLI-42 cartridges that come with the printer during setup. Has anyone setup a new Pro 100 with refilled cartridges?
If it's best to use the new...
I have never had a chip failure with a redsetter and Canon OEM cartridges. This is with over about 15 years of refilling with various printers and 4 different redsetters.
To be very clear, the only CLI-8 cartridges you will need are for the yellow (and you need a CLI-42 chip for that).
So, use your original CLI-42 set, but take the chip off of the yellow, discard that cartridge, and reinstall the yellow chip on a CLI-8 (any color will work).
Then buy a...
Maybe I should just use the Pro 100 for everything. I almost feel guilty using such a high quality photo printer for everyday stuff. But I bought three of them, so I'm set for a long time of refilling. And I have a good stash of empty CLI8 cartridges.
I don't really need pigment black ink for...
I want to add a daily use printer (refillable) to my Pro 100 which I'll use for photos.
The Maxify or MegaTank look like good candidates. I'm a long-time, competent refiller with CLI8 and CLI42 cartridges, but have never touched the other two I mentioned. I'm looking for a dependable, very easy...
G1200, G2200, G3200, G4210, etc...This seems like a good way to go for someone who doesn't want to refill cartridges the way that most of us do.....and doesn't need the higher quality prints as from most photo printers. So, used as a daily use printer to print invoices, etc.
Do these printers...
Hat,
I tried hot glue a few years ago and it peeled off. I wonder if it was just not a good glue? Anyway, we now have yet another way to seal these cartridges.
Fred
The Hat, I don't know if this will help, But i'll post it anyway. I recently tried the top fill method (after years of successful German Method), mainly because I had very old CLI-8s that I wanted to flush through a larger hole. So I removed the ball and drilled out to 5/32". After completed, I...
I can't seem to find the definitive thread on getting my CLI-42 cartridges ready to use. I have been using CLI-8s in my ip4200, but want to transition to my new Pro 100.
I have a couple of sets of OEM Canon CLI-42s (and plenty of CLI-8s for yellow to re-chip). I have the propylene glycol +...
I have TWO used Canon ip4200 in box. The printheads died so I transitioned to my last new ip4200, which I'll use and refill until it dies. Are in great shape, just needs a printhead....or for parts! One of the last easy to refill printers using CLI-8 carts..I'll go on to my new, unopened Pro...
