    What IS colour anyway?

I have learned a lot from the extra efforts of the members here. I have applied what they have taught me, tweaked, modified, thrown away and re-invented ways to accomplish my goals. My waste can is always full of my experiments gone bad. This whole thing is a learning experience and the...

A basic guide (see post #1) to setting up ARGYLL CMS profiling on your computer

A new kid here. A little off topic: unevenness and muddiness in shadows is a tough one. The individual colored inks and black ink densities and how they are mixed in the driver, added to how that paper reacts, is one of the reasons many of us have gone to a RIP driver over the OEM one. I...

Inktec vs American vs OCP.. please help..

I recently ordered my first OCP inkset (Epson K3) for my 2400 with the vivid magentas per everyone's recommendations here. Swapping out Lyson's Cave Paint. Too $$$$$. Rjettek said they will be stocking the vivid in small quantities in case anyone is interested.

My New Epson Stylus Photo 1500w (artisan 1430) !!!

Enjoy your 1500 (1430). My trusty 1400 has been a real workhorse having had to do 3 IPR resets since purchased. Still kicking. I've run dye, pigment and carbon black and white inksets through it. Always worked. I also have only used CIS ink systems throughout it's life. I see from your pic...

Using the Colormunki with Argyll targets

No problem.... I am using a roll-around microwave oven cart I picked up at a rummage sale. I tape a piece of no OBA, neutral white chipboard on top. The T-square rides nicely along the edges. My target gets taped to the white chipboard with the removable tape after aligning the columns with...

Using the Colormunki with Argyll targets

When measuring Argyll targets with a Colormunki, I use an old T-square from my paper drafting days and a small flat top table with a fairly straight edge on it. Once I align the printed columns with the edge of the T-square, I tape the target down with Scotch removable tape. I then can center...

From the land of ice and snow.....

I'm a retired old guy, that does a lot of printing...mostly making laminated wallet cards for self-help groups. Currently I use 3 Epsons, a 2400, a 1400 and a 3520, all with CIS installed. The 2400 currently uses enhanced Lyson Cave Paint but will be converting over to OCP (with VM). The 1400...
