@CakeHole There is a reason why mikling is renewing his magenta as some people had problem with IS magenta in Pro-100, remember not all of the customers of IS inks are members of the forum, we can´t know for sure if others have had the same problem I have dealt with.
I will buy ink from another supplier, OEM costs are soaring high. With my previous ink supplier it is true printheads got damaged, but honestly don´t remember of getting some blockage in the magenta channel.
With the current IS I have the problem sometimes is the ink works well, but suddenly...
It is not that the ink killed my printer, the clog this ink caused led me to deal with it, the method I tried was forcing water through the printhead. By doing that, even when the circuit board was dry and maybe in desperation I tested the printhead too soon and that killed the logic...
This why I hate Epson, these "clogs" are air bubbles trapped in the printhead, when I had 2 Epson printers the most challenging "clog" was in the yellow pattern. Howerver, I noticed you have air in the tubings, you need to make sure there is only ink from the tanks throught the cartridges (solid...
I will look for these photos I moved a month ago, I stored these prints somewhere when I have some time I will look for them and will be scanned. A better understanding of the problem will be clear with scans.
@The Hat it is certain that I am not an experienced refiller. My refiller approach was back in 2008, my only refilling method was, and will be the german one My very first refills were made with 20ml Inktec which lasted 3 refills, then followed by Hobbicolors like 4 years, cartridges...
A price has to be paid by using 3rd party inks, first is fade resistance. I was quite aware of this, you can never expect same fade resistance, but real stubborn clogs rendering your printhead useless is just too unfair/expensive.
Maybe time will let you know what happened with this ink, only...
It is good that you stay away from IS weakness, as you know I have had accelerated fading and odd colors in my prints. The only thing not solved here is my dead printheads and printers fighting the clogs in the magenta channel.
I know too much pressure will complicate things. What is strange is that equal pressure was applied to other channels just to see how the fan pattern was, and no problem when nozzle check was printed while the printhead was still functional.
Too much pressure wasn´t the problem, I applied more...
A doubt dwells in my mind, when using a syringe and vynil tubing, to get rid of hard clogs, the clog gets worse. Same problem with a QY6-0059, and QY6-0073, the problem arosed in both printhead in magenta channel.- Ink was IS. At first litte mist, second try only few drops drops and foam...
What makes your new MX860 more fade reistant?
A proper blend of ink will mimick the Canon OEM colors, so use of profile is not a must. Something it is good not to be tied to ICC, this way you use your multifunction printer copy function, and you get the colors right.
A long time ago I read...
This is from a recent post. I had problem with pigment black being inexistent in the nozzle check pattern, I have seen this inexistent problem twice and this is what I did. Now your problem is not so bad as some nozzles are the ones with the problem. This could be helpful assuming that your...
It never represented a problem when printing text, but with paper photo smeared in 2 corners of the same side. This was when using Hobbicolors pigment, now I am using IS pigment ink. Almost 3 liters of OCP pigment black were used in my printers, but I don´t remember if the printhead had the same...
This was seen in printers that were exclusively dedicated to photo printing, the pigment black was not used. Other printer I had that printed text maybe 100+ sheets daily in fast mode had the same problem. I used the high quality just few times when large solid black areas needed to be perfect...
Boiling water was indeed destructive with standalone printheads, but don´t know why with printheads integrated to the cartridge is another story. Maybe I boiled the cartridges 10 times, and even electrical contacts got wet, and no problems at all.
Now I can´t do more testing as the printer is...
Remember that there is ink in the sponges of the cartridges, I have my carts open, but I don´t remove the sponge and there is some residual ink, when water boils the ink in the sponges gets transfered to water, and sometimes water gets into the sponges. I can see the sponges getting very wet...
Curiously I found myself in the situtation that pigment black is not printing when using the MP620. First problem was several years ago, and last week the second time.
This time I tried to solve the problem with Windex just to avoid involving water in the process, and just little hints of...
