From the information posted over time on this forum, and on their respective websites it seems pretty clear that the PC and the Octoink refills for the CLI-42 yellow are sourced from different suppliers, and the Octoinkjet version does not suffer from the Gello-Yellow malady.
It is hard to draw...
You can weigh the dried carts to ensure there is no residual water before you start refilling. Consider, a CLI-42 cart refills with about 12 or so ml of ink. with only a gram or ml of excess moisture before refilling you are introducing serious dilution, especially over 8 colours.
A small...
I am open to correction on this, but my understanding is that ICC profile files are platform and OS agnostic.
They are essentially data and matrix files in a specified format that is read and interpreted by the components of the colour managment system.
For the longest time Adobe products...
About to leave on vacation so have not been able to evaluate figures, but result is very interesting.
On the inkjet paper, and allowing for discarding the highest and lowest outlier readings, we see a huge difference. By my hurried count from 13 to 26.1 on matte and 4.5 to 24.2 on the glossy...
Not sure if this has any relevene to your issue at hand. The paragraph below gives chapter and verse from Adobe on Adobe1998.icc profile which is an Adobe proprietary profile, although apparently in the public domain.
"Legal note regarding color-space naming: Only the Adobe RGB (1998) ICC...
Excuse the off topic post Apetitphoto.

How about your comment:
"However, we are now what, three years later, and evidence shows this claim to be inaccurate...."
You then go on to state your opinion and experience implying it is a universal fact and reproducable. We are all entitled to our opinions, just as I am stating my opinion...
My Niece's husband is a surgeon in Toronto and I have heard many conversations relating to them using 3D printers for human "replacement parts". Of course using very sophisticaterd equipment for designing and printing, but the principle remains the same. Most of the detail is beyond my...

Can't believe I paid something like $150 for this piece of C##P

Ink jet papers are a small niche market within the bigger paper industry.
Most purchaser within this niche are, for the most part, artistic and creative people rather than objective evidence based evaluators.
It seems this results in advertising hype that makes all sorts of ephemeral claims...
Anybody refilling in a business or production environment MUST out of necessity refill with duplicate cartridge sets prepared off-line and available for cartridge swapping.
When the first cart of a set indicates empty, total time to swap out eight used for 8 prepared refills should be about 30...
Cant't beat Jose Rodiguez (AKA JToolman) videos for clarity and explaining the complexities in a straightforward simple manner.
Just google them on Youtube.
Alternatively Precision Colors website has a lot of help including videos.

This just in from today's news to reinforce my point about the cell phone menace:

Well!!!
Society became the bane of evolution. Especially when stupidity was no longer fatal.
Then along came the cell phone and stupid people could start walking into traffic whilst texting. Use the cellphone in the bath and electrocute themselves. Kill themselve texting whilst driving their...
You may be better advised to visit a few of the many photography forums
and sample some of the opinions there. Printer Knowledge tends to be gear driven and more or a technical site, rather than an artistic site.
Secondly, because of the high weight to size ratio paper is expensive to ship. A...
