1 - I've been printing on matte paper exclusively and it does dry into the paper. Earlier today I made a print on luster and just now rubbed it and the ink came off on to my finger - not so with the matte.
2 - A print on plain paper with the same settings showed no striping at all so...
Printer is Canon ip8720 about 2 years old. Paper is Canon Pro Premium Matte 13x19. Printing b&w. Not using color management option but instead plain paper, grayscale which uses primarily the OEM Canon PGI-250XL <PGBK> pigment ink cartridge giving me totally color tints-free prints. My on-going...
I ordered and received a cartridge I believed to be an original Canon PGI-250BK/XL cartridge from an Ebay seller. No original card board packaging - just a cellophane sleeve unopened. The printing on the actual cartridge seems OK accept the word "Canon" is not there. Instead the word "Push" is...
I've been scanning prints and negatives for a while now with my Epson Perfection 4990 PHOTO and having success --- most of the time. But every once in a while the grain looks a tad mushy. It may be due to the fact that the film in the film holders aren't exactly flat. Or that the scanner is...
Right now I'm using Canon OEM inks in my PIXMA ip8720 to print b/w on Canon Pro Premium Matte (PM-101).
I'm having success using these settings: Editing in Photoshop Elements in grey scale mode, in quick setup box in ip8720 series printing properties I select the 'standard' option under...
Thanks PeterBJ and Ink stained fingers. Printing out a pattern sheet really helps. I'm having some success adjusting the driver color sliders with the OEM ink carts. Damn they're expensive! Now I'm considering switching over to re-fillable carts using Precision Colors' system as soon as I've...
Using PIXMA ip 8720 and PM 101 Premium Matte. I print only from scanned b&w prints and negatives. After struggling for 1-1/2 years with 3rd party LD (cheaper) pre-filled ink carts which gave me magenta casts and lately bluish darker grays - I installed a set of original Canon OEM carts...
PeterBJ - Thanks for this. Just doesn't 'seem' normal. Yeah, my nozzel checks are OK. I was verging on removing the print head and flushing it clean. Still left with an issue of blueish tints in darker gray areas.
Thanks stratman. Yes - I am brassman. Anyway -- Nozzel checks are fine. Other reason; My "black and white" prints have blueish/cyanish tints in the darker gray areas which is why I considered the alignment was off. Not to mention the on-going magenta tints that many are dealing with. Thanks
My PIXMA ip8720 printhead alignment print out sheet is missing a couple of blocks of ink in the 6th and 7th rows. I don't think this is normal -- is it? If not, what is wrong?
