Yet another fading test of dye inks - the last one (?)

Just to be clear, the Hongsam inks I recommend are their "Evernew" series: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2021-HONGSAM-EverNew-High-Light-fastness_1600189325807.html @Ink stained Fingers: are those the ones you ordered?

    Canon bottled dye inks

DCtec inks are made by Hongsam. I have good experience with their Evernew series which are significantly more fade resistant than typical 3rd party dye inks. They also fade without large color shifts.

    Chip resetter for P700/P900

Thanks for the explanation and offer, Carsten. I don't own the P700/900 (yet). I new set of carts would be a serious cost adder to the investment...so I would like to be sure. Good luck with your monochrome adventure and be sure to use QTR to map out the bad channels. The Epson ABW mode still...

    Chip resetter for P700/P900

I mean the chips, not the actual carts. I cannot remember where exactly, but one seller mentioned the chip resetter for the P700/900 did not work on initialization carts (or better, chips). Did you use the chips from the first set of carts included with your printer or are they bought new...

    Chip resetter for P700/P900

Does the chip resetter work on the initialization carts or only on a standard retail set? I've been reading some conflicting info...

New Monitor - Any experience with Dell UP2720Q 4K for editing?

PM sent regarding the viewing angle issues. Let's investigate this a bit further. The U2720Q's color gamut is quite a bit smaller than the UP's gamut. Especially the green primary seems way more saturated in the UP2720Q to cover both DCI-P3 and AdobeRGB. I wonder how LG is achieving this, as I...

Yes, it is, actually. This must be a new addition to their website :)

New Monitor - Any experience with Dell UP2720Q 4K for editing?

When asking specific questions regarding their built-in colorimeter, all I got was "sorry Sir, we do not have a support channel for the colorimeter. You have to ask the manufacturer, but we cannot tell you who that is". Regarding CalMAN: "CalMAN for Dell is not for sale in your country"...

New Monitor - Any experience with Dell UP2720Q 4K for editing?

Hi Bob, I recently bought a Dell UP2720Q to replace my aging (but still working) U2410. It was a difficult decision...let me share my thoughts without going into the discussion if 4k resolution is needed or not. Positive: - The widest color gamut I have ever measured on a display. The...

    Looking at the P700

Thanks a lot, ISF. That answers my question: it seems you CAN print borderless at the highest DPI setting.

    Looking at the P700

Thanks for the suggestions. It seems, however, I cannot get the driver to "run" without having the actual printer connected. Do you have a solution for that?

    Looking at the P700

Can someone with a P700 confirm this? Maybe @Keith Cooper? The scans from Red River show visible microbanding at 1440x720 and 1440x1440dpi. It would be a shame having to live with this because of yet another software limitation...

    Smudging on some colours

Deflection caused by a dirty nozzle plate, I would say. You'll see it disappear once you have cleared those 5 nozzles. If not, you could have marginal ink viscosity (I had a similar problem traced back to low ink viscosity).

Looking at the new Canon PRO-300

Interesting thoughts. Here are mine: the differences you are seeing are caused by the dithering algorithm and the ink curves. The Epson R3000, for example, prints grainier and a bit coarser than the Epson 1500W (same inks, same paper), even though the R3000 has more ink channels. The 1500W...

Also curious here! I think pharamacist also owned an Epson R3000. How does that one compare to the P800?

Looking at the new Canon PRO-300

The LAB-slice used to illustrate the delta E CMC method should show a constant L* (see below). This means each hue angle varies in chroma from 0 in the center of the diagram to its maximum value at the edge, but the lightness of that hue is constant. In practice this means that the small...

Part search - pizza wheel roller for PX720WD

Hi fellow geeks, I am looking for 2 paper support rollers for my Epson PX720WD. The printer was bought second hand and the previous owner must have removed them. This is the actual part I am looking for. There are 2 of them in the PX720 and similar printers (PX700, 710, 730, 800, etc.)...
