A bit annoying if you need to use the heat gun every day to flatten the sign ..
Have I mentioned before that there're other filaments much more resilient to heat and UV than PLA.? ;)
Look,The Hat, just for a "few" bucks more..

Good to know that 'infections' aren't a common issue.
Many years ago I had an issue with ink from US vendor Miss.Supplies. One of the inks, cyan I believe, not long after the bottle was opened. became sort of gelatinous. It was almost impossible to fill the syringe because of the extra...
What about fungicides?. I suppose they're used on most inks, specially dye based, to prevent growing of algae/fungi. Of course if you mix the clear base with OEM cyan/magenta/black inks, the final light ink will contain a certain amount of fungicides, albeit much less than a regular ink.
AFAIK nothing has been posted in this forum for disassembling the Pro-1000 in order to remove the printhead. I think that few, if any, of the regulars here owns a Pro-1000. This is isn't a run of the mill Pixma multifunction or even the more affordable Pro models like the Pro-9500/10/100.
I...
Yes, what’s to loose...but this is the last desperate move which in 95% of occasions serves of nothing.
I opened several Canon printheads, removing the screws and unbending 90º the ceramic plate with the nozzles assembly. When you do that, there’re high chances of breaking some of the tiny...
Canon has updated the printhead of several printers during the last years. For instance, the QY6-0055, original printhead for the Pro-9000, was replaced by the QY6-0076 when the Pro-9000 MkII was released. The new printhead was compatible with the 'old' Pro.9000 MKI but, apparenty, the old...
Canon Maxify range of printers use solely pigment ink. I don't know about Epson and others but all Canon cartridges starting with 'PGI' contain pigment ink, 'pure pigment' as you say.
Is this ink, combined with printable HTV, suitable for making t-shirts ?. Sorry, I have no idea..
This printer is fairly new so I guess that few, if any, of them has reached the 'full waste inkpads' condition. Probably you're one of the first users trying the software tool because there's no need to do so until the waste inkpads counter needs resetting, and the printer warns you before that...
Thanks for the reminder. I forgot that I had the manual service of the IP3000 ( those were the times when service manuals were easly available ..).
Indeed pigment black is used only for plain paper or transparency; never for photo paper. The printer uses all 4 colors for printing on...
Who said we must use only Canon paper on Canon printers? Not me. I use mostly Epson, Ilford or Rauch media but
never in my life I purchased a box of Canon paper. My only experience with Canon are the sample sheets included with the Pro-9000 and Pro-10. That Lidl/United Office that I tried...
Depending on the composition of the cleaning liquid, leaving it for long periods of time might be risky. Ammonia attacks copper and other metals, albeit slowly. The percentaje of ammonia in Windex and similar products is low, but even so I wouldn't take the chance. For long, long soakings I'd...
If the G2260 behaves likes my IP3000 (only 4 carts: CMY + pigment black, no photo black); then it will mix CMY for printing anything on non plain paper, be it glossy, matte etc. Pigment black will never be used on this media, only on plain paper, if the page has no color content. If it has...
Internet is full of bogus information from clueless people. If you search a bit you'll find somebody saying that the end of the world is just next Monday.
Keep your printer always on if that suits you. I keep mine always Off. Let's leave the argument here.
That old thread is full of nonsense. I wouldn't know about Epson but I dont believe for a moment that somebody speaking on Canon's behalf said that the printer performs a cleaning cycle every time is turned on, because it's simply not true.
The fellow who posted that info was clueless, making it...
@The Hat, your test of the Canon 56 inks are disappointing but take into account that you used that crappy Lidl/Sihl/United Ofice paper. Years ago I tested this paper vs. Epson Glossy with the same set of third party dye inks. Both papers faded of course but the United Office did it five times...
As I said here time ago, my Maxify sits on another room away from the computer and totally disconnected from the power socket. If I print, for instance, twice a week during some minutes, this is the only period of time that the machine is powered. No compulsory cleaning cycle every time I print...
That's not true. Canon printers do head cleanings when you try to print something and a certain number of hours had elapsed since the last cleaning.
If your turn off and on a printer every five minutes it won't perform a cleaning every time. No matter if you left the printer always ON or not...
