Thank you for pointing me in this direction, while the publicly available service manual does not go into that level of detail it does explain how to interpret the EEPROM printout to determine how many cleaning and what type of cleaning cycles were performed- thankfully it rules out excessive...
thank you didn't know that, nice to know that the whirring sound isn't necessarily ink filling up the pads. Is there anyway to distinguish between the two operations? Seems to be another good incentive to have a potty fitted when the warranty lapses.
I apologize for not wording it more clearly, its not so much that infrequent use makes it do more cleaning but rather that it seems to do more cleaning cycles in general compared to a non inktank printer that low usage scenarios would not make sense as you have said. While cleaning on power on...
Depending on the region Canon still sells the G1010-4010 which aren't Mac compatible (prints from ipads fine though- not sure if printing via airprint/running the ios app on a m1 app will work)
Had no prior experience with integrated ink tank (nor CISS conversions) prior to getting one but it...
5011/5012 seems to be related to a scanner ribbon getting detached according to this may be worth trying if you are comfortable with taking your printer apart before bringing it to a service center.(assuming that guarantee has lapsed already)
Not sure if it's appropriate to lump my question into here but would intermixing between GI-53 and HP GT52 inks considered safe or would it be more prudent to stick to canon inks in a canon printer/Flush the carts? i think i've read somewhere here that those have similar fading performance to...
Good day,Not sure on epsons but on the canon printers we have they sometimes rejects a refillable ink cart and we have swap in another cart/chip from another refillable or empty oem cartridge. The only thing i can suggest is trying an oem cartridge next also i read somewhere that some printers...
Do you happen to still have the dead mx925? Just wondering if this printer has the same moisture laden tape that gave my MG6270 intermittent B200 errors.
Our MG6270 had felt tape on the logic board that seemed to have absorbed enough moisture(one tape on the back of the logic board had a red mark from the water indicator but no water marks in the chassis to suggest water damage) to cause it to develop intermittent B200 errors.Removing all the...
Are they coding the print heads to the printer ? They looked to be removable atleast in the case of the ts5050

Using 2 empty starter cartridges i was able to remove the chips straight using hot water. It does softens the glue really well that it comes off with little amount of force compared to twisting it off or pulling straight off without any treatment.I did not test the chips in the printer but i...
I found that the paper chip seems to come off more easily when you twist it rather than pulling it straight out maybe a combination of the two methods could yield a less risky way of swapping such paper chips ?
Had time to dig around on the mg5620 (on accidentally updated firmware:he:he:he ) on st4905 reacts in a similar manner as experience by the @The Hat when clearing the waste pads prompting to print eeprom instead and setting the counter value does nothing, extended nozzle checks work fine...
stumbled on a newer ? service tool v4905? from a chinese printer site that from the looks of it has been modified (similar person that released the 3600 as QQ matches ?): http://bbs.inknet.cn/thread-595804-1-1.html although it has a few new buttons on it.I haven't tested it though apart from a...
the 22x gen would had been preferable as until recently we had a mg6270 that we had been top refilling using PC inks and 221 carts and would have liked that they shared the same carts however individual ink tank printers(non-ciss) rarely show up on listings new/used here.As for moving to an...
