Flushed a virgin magenta cart last night and refilled it this morning use top fill method. Still the same story. If I start with a clean nozzle and then print nozzle check it looks perfect. Do another nozzle check printout and it too is AOK. Then I try and print my home made test pattern which...
Ok after finding my print head dried out and plugged up after taking a vacation and not using it for about 3 weeks and trying all the various methods to get it unplugged, I finally decided to buy a new print head instead of buying a new printer. I bought an original OEM Genuine Canon head off...
Great Idea squeeze the bottle in the vertical position to clear the needle before I cover it. Now that makes sense. Then just flush the needle everytime I refill the bottle as long as the top is off. I have a tendency to think to far ahead about filling my next set of carts and forget about...
Well Ive been home for over 3 weeks now and found it right away. Since then I have had it soaking in windex constantly and in between trying to flush it with special adapters I had made that fit over the bosses that have the screens. They fit on the end of a syringe so I could flush them with...
Just came back from a 3 week extended vacation and found my mx892's printhead was all plugged up. I guess from just sitting in the parked position. The power to the printer was left on. Now the printhead is beyond cleaning so I need a new one. A newer model similar printer mx922 appears to be...
I too have a similar predicament. I started with a mx860 (220 carts) then bought a mx892 (225 carts) now Im looking at buying a mx922 which uses 250carts. Can someone tell me if the 250 carts are the same as the other two--- 220s and 225s and I would just need to change the chips again? Or are...
Hey Hat,
I just ran into this informative page on cleaning Canon printheads. It contains almost all the methods I have read about here all together on one page. Please check it out. http://mboesen.net/hardware/print_heads/print_heads.html
After reading this subject I have a question about filling with squeeze bottles. I have been using them for some time now. I cover the needles with a pc of heat shrink tubing that I shrink down so it is a nice slide fit onto the needle. I melt the top of the tubing with a match so as to seal...
Glad to hear someone else is in a hurry sometimes like I am. Other times Im just plain impatient and want to get the whole thing done while its on my mind.
I like the Hats idea of adding the screw under the rubber band, this helps keep pressure contact between the paper towel and the sponge in the exit port. Better yet for quick drying a flushed cart check out my whrling sock idea. This is the ultra fast way of getting the cleaning water out of...
Hmmmm now u got me thinkin!!!!

I have been refilling carts since I bought my HP inkjet printer when inkjet printer first came on the market. The day I stumbled onto a guy selling refill inks at a pc show made me realize how much money was to be made buying OEM new carts. Then I found this site and became a real believer. I...
Thanx Peter, so I guess that means I had about 5.7 Gs goin there. So you say you were up in the hundreds of Gs with the drill motor version? YIKES1 I guess that could be a little scary unless you were standing behind a wall or a shield of some kind. And to STRATMAN Im glad you liked my pics...
I probably did about 25 revs in 15 seconds. or 100 rpm. I rotated the sock from my wrist and the distance was around 20 inches. Don't know how you calculate the g s for that speed and distance but I'd be interested in the formula. I gotta say this is a much faster way to dry the carts then...
OK now using a centrifuge seams to have been a reasonable idea. I just finished flushing out two full sets of carts (225s and 226s). Using my method with the clips I made up and a hose rigged up from my faucet. See this link...
Seeing as how I didn’t get any comments on my last post in “My way for flushing cartridges #15”. I decided to post this as a new thread to see what you guys think? After looking at a older post from ThrillaMozilla, where he posted some radiographs of carts showing the sponges separated from...
Very interesting.
I also like the idea of making a centrifuge by using a stocking and whirling it around with the cart in it.
This might be a good idea for carts that have been flushed just to make sure the sponges are in full contact with each other. I think whirling them around just before...
